clement 'coxsone' dodd FB page I sent a message asking if they have contact with family.

Have to say that they've really hit a lot of news sites with the story; found a few in NY

Just on family search there are over 230,000 women named Deisha who were born in 1981. Yikes. Clearly they don't all have that birthdate in the tat.

Also, is that first number an 8 or a 6?

There is a Carol Dodd on FB that looks EXACTLY like the woman in the photo with Deisha Dodd.

Yep, it's definitely the right Carol Dodd. I did a little digging around and found the other siblings listed in Norma Dodd's obit. One has Coxsone's photos and mentions of him. But no mention of Deisha anywhere.

So strange! Figuring out what happened to her can lead us to the identify of the unidentified but who/what/where about Deisha seems to be taking over.

Yep, it's definitely the right Carol Dodd. I did a little digging around and found the other siblings listed in Norma Dodd's obit. One has Coxsone's photos and mentions of him. But no mention of Deisha anywhere.

So strange! Figuring out what happened to her can lead us to the identify of the unidentified but who/what/where about Deisha seems to be taking over.

All that really needs doing is for Law Enforcement to speak to Deisha's mother, find out if that date is really her death date, and find out if Deisha had a boyfriend, close male friend, someone close enough to commemorate her with a tattoo, who was either a white man or light-skinned black man. And who possibly had some kind of connection to Detroit, if known. Then follow up on those leads...

She looks similar to me but if she is the same AD I've found, she is too young (28).

Someone already reached out to Det. Krebs about the possible DD connection, correct?

No I don't mean she was trying to deceive anyone, just started going by a diff. name (Asia somewhat sounds like Deisha). Her page is private so can't see when her last post was but it very well could have been from 2009 (she hasn't liked/commented on CD's page at all).

Wait, now I think they might be the same person. AD's Facebook said she went to Fort Hamilton HS, which is in Brooklyn... Or she could just be another relative.

If they are one and the same and AD is still alive... back to the drawing board again. Unless, as someone suggested upthread, the "death" date really represents the end of a relationship.

True. We know the AD in Brooklyn (not be confused with the one in Texas) was still alive as recently as 2012. That's when she added friends on FB.

I'm looking at the pictures of DD and AD and they are not the same person. IHO

I don't think they're the same person either. The AD I've found is a bit younger and I wonder if she might be a sister or cousin.

I've been going through the Social Security Death Index and I've found no one with those exact birth and death dates.

I have found several Deisha or Desha who are male. I won't list all the red herrings here

A lot of Deisha's family is in or has visited Jamaica. Also I didn't find a birth record for Deisha, so either she was born in a state that doesn't publish birth records or possibly born in Jamaica.

I did find an address listing in Brooklyn for Jan. 2009 so maybe she left the country.
