DETROIT – The remains of a woman believed to be between 13 and 24 years old were found in a wooded area in Detroit 21 years ago. She has never been identified.

Her remains were found on June 20, 2001. Officials said they believed she died in 2000 or 2001. She had injuries to her face and was not recognizable.

She is estimated to have been 5′8′' tall and weighed 189 lbs. She had blonde/strawberry or brownish/blonde fine, wavy and long hair. She may have been obese related to an endocrine imbalance.

Just had a quick look on NamUs and found these three:

Billie Jo Hughes, Female, White / Caucasian (as previously suggested)
Heather Ann-Marie Burrows, Female, White / Caucasian (last seen 1st Feb 2001, 5'5-5'8, 150-180lbs, 20yo - missing from Oklahoma so not that close but still midwest.)
Stephanie D Welch, Female, White / Caucasian (last seen 28th Feb 2001, 5'8, 190lbs, 23yo - missing from Kansas so again not that close but still in the midwest.)

Neither look particularly like the sketch but I found it contradictory from the description so not sure how much weight it holds.

Its probably nothing but thought I'd throw in some options. I'm v new to this so if I've missed anything obvious let me know!

Her age is within range and also has freckles as described on UID.

Her height is off according to the estimate but her appearance looks similar to the recon.

Terah Maria Thornhill – looks a lot like this drawing to me (the style of the eyebrows etc -I put the pic here too)

Her NamUs was modified todayy; there are no new public exclusions.

Would the skeleton of a 13 year old not be very different from a 24 year old? She has a more broad age estimate of a pre-30s adult.

She appears to be the most likely match to me. UID has height listed from 5’8”-5’10” and weight from 189-210. Age range 16-20, blonde to brown hair. Hazel vs green eyes. Did you ever submit? I do not see April listed as an exclusion. Please do! Additional photos of April below:
