Rather odd he was fully dressed, but without shoes. Also, you'd think the dog would've warned him of danger at the shaft opening. Could they have been chased or pushed into it? jmo

Yes it is odd unless the guy fell and the poor dedicated faithful dog jumped in after him to save him.

Or the guy fell in and the dog attach to the leash got pulled in with the guy

It is strange he had no shoes

Strange that someone would choose to walk his dog in a vacant apartment building—on the ninth floor no less!

It sounds like the elevator wasn't working properly if they fell down the shaft. So did he walk his dog up nine flights of stairs? Is that something dog walkers do? It just sounds so odd.

Walking his dog also suggests the man is local to the area. But then why did no one report a loved one, a neighbor, or even a tenant stepping out with his dog and never coming back? It had only been a week, as per the PMI. Were they homeless?

I have thought about this one a lot! This is really strange.
Unless he was a homeless guy living in this building with the dog But someone had to have seen this guy outside with his dog at some point.
I think living in the building because no shoes were found and it was October so Iam assuming it was cold in Michigan at that time to be walking around with no shoes
