How did Eric join this group? I went over much of the group postings and did not see anywhere Eric L. Franks posted, but he is definitely a member and joined after June 17, 2011. On the join date it states he "joined over a year ago".

I noticed he is a member of a FB group called MissingSme1 https://www.facebook.com/groups/241244509230834/? and the join date is also over a year ago. I haven't checked the date it was started.

You don't know who had him join. Someone apparently had his passwords. So, that is impossible to really know. No, Eric did not speak other languages.

As a Facebook user for quite a while now I can tell you that depending on the security settings of your account, a person on your friend list that belongs to a group can add you to that group without you needing to do anything. The date you joined in that case is actually the date your friend added you to the group.
This has happened to me in various occasions and I found out that I had to go through the security settings (which are constantly changing) on Facebook and disable my friends adding me to groups without permission.

IMO; LE can go over all of the emails or PM's; but they may not catch that it was not Eric answering unless they were familiar with Eric.

I think the person receiving the email from Eric should go back to make sure it looks like his style

We looked at the emails to see if we thought they might not be from him (after the fact). We had no reason to think they were not from him until they stopped. They were very generic. They answered the questions I left on voice mails. We questioned the way he referred to one family member. They were just so matter of fact. Of course, now we wonder if they were actually from him. The post on Facebook were questioned by Vee and his friend in TX as to certain words that perhaps were not his way of speaking.

Seriously Searching, some of what you are asking in connection to your timeline is impossible to know. Only Eric could answer some of that. The police have so far not obtained access to his FB accts, so some of that is unknown. We, as a family, are working on some aspects of this, with the knowledge of police, and hope it would answer some questions the family and police have. I am not at liberty to discuss that at present time. Vee may be able to answer the time closer than anyone as to when he first made contact with FG's husband. He did not make contact with the FG. She contacted him according to the husband. Eric did not leave his wife. She has already stated that she left him. Eric left my house in OH on Oct. 25, 2010 headed to Saginaw. He stayed in a nicer motel at first, then you would have to check with the motel owner or police about the exact check in date. Those things were not important at the time to take note of. I did ask the motel owner later about dates and he said he would check his records. That is something the police surely questioned him about. The important date I asked about was when he checked out. That is when the police took this case seriously, because the motel owner denied the FG's story and implicated her. Of course, she had told two of Eric's family members an entirely different story that she still hasn't told the police. Even her husband told one of us a story that lines up more with the one she told our family. I know she lied to us also in parts of the story. There was no DNA done. The police said FG and her husband said they told their daughter that Eric was her dad in November 2010, I believe.

Someone who talked to him daily, has been trying to become a member of websleuths and has not been successful even with using the email sent to help the person get in. Another family member also has had the same problem. Hopefully, they can get on here and answer some questions. As to if and when Eric and FG actually moved in together, I wish you would call her in FL and ask her. Eric's family and the police would like to know ! With her track record, she surely would give you the exact true story. As for when FG and family moved to FL....the police said they had her house under surveillance for 6 wks and didn't know they had moved out. They didn't see any movement for a while and asked the neighbors and were told the family moved to FL. So, I guess again, you'd have to ask the FG.

What is the error with joining here? They have to have an email addy from their ISP such as comcast; roadrunner. To my knowledge they do not allow freebie accts such as gmail or yahoo.

Seriously Searching, the last time I talked to Eric was either March 9th or 10th, 2011. I got emails I thought were from him through August. It was not until the emails stopped and we reported him missing, that it was posted on the Elite by a close friend we were in contact with, that I got the Nov. email......the day after the friend posted that we had gone to the police. No one in our family believed it was from Eric then or now. The only people who could see the post besides him were 7 people who are still friends on that site including his FG.

Just bumping this. I wonder what leads Frank's former girlfriend in Florida to have such a different opinion to Det. Thomas. Does she have some information they don't, that she has gained since she last spoke to police?

If so, she really must come forward and talk to them. Eric deserves some support. He's a missing person. Parents with missing children often say it is the worst pain in the world, and they'd rather go through anything than that.

They let you join with a gmail? They must have changed it because they didn't used to allow it. I have my comcast emails forwarding to my gmail

Good point, Zwiebel. I just think due to all of her repeated inconsistencies and lies, she is just talking, but I don't know. Terry Camp said she was "all over the place" when he talked to her last and she gave that statement you mentioned. He asked her didn't she want to know what happened to the father of her child, I believe. She said to leave her children out of this. She told him she did not plan to ever go back to Saginaw. (She still has businesses and family there.) That's the time she told Terry that she didn't care what happened to Eric. You would think that she would be more than willing to cooperate and help find Eric, since she was so kind to him and helped him gather his belongings and put them in his car so he could leave town. No mention of any argument or any problem. They had apparently been on the phone with one another that same day. The police said it might not have been Eric actually, someone else could have had his phone that day. If it was her talking to Eric a couple of times that day then there must have been a cordial goodbye and she willingly helped him leave a room that was paid up so he could head off to somewhere. None of her story makes sense and neither the police or the family believe it.

If a scrap yard took in an illegal car, it was probably one of many and perhaps no one would have noticed the make or model and chances are they would not come forward if they are involved in illegal activities even with immunity.

Is there a reward being offered for information on this case? If someone knows something, any information would be a big help in setting things in motion to find Eric. It could certainly be tempting to one making minimum wage in some junk/scrap yard or to another person who may have knowledge of Eric's disappearance.

There must be people Eric met in 5 months. So far we have only heard about the ex-gf and her family plus the people from the motel. Eric crossed paths with others during that time and they could have more information.

Crimestoppers in Saginaw aired Eric's missing story and offered a reward. There was a couple of tips that didn't prove to be legitimate. The one tip that
did come in about 2 years ago has not been followed up on . It was proof that FG had given one of Eric's friends another story about Eric being with her and well in June and she would relay a message to call the friend. Of course, the friend never heard from Eric. The police say they are waiting to maybe ask her about that story. Eric's family offered a reward a while back on the news. I told Terry it was to find Eric alive and well or for information that would show who did something to him back in 2011.

While I appreciate what you are saying, it can't be definitive they were from someone else. If something happened to Eric where he had a breakdown or a medical issue, his emails may sound different. We can only go by when and what account was used to send the emails without any way to determine the user. We need to stick with facts and not speculation.

There are others who could have accessed his accounts plus we don't know for a fact his ex-gf ever had access. Who else knew his passwords?[/QUOTE) As far anyone knows, no one had his passwords before he went to Saginaw. Vee said he changed them sometimes. He wasn't having any kind of medical issue or breakdown when he talked in the emails about me giving his tv to a relative. I asked the question on voicemail and I got a reply. Or when he said he hadn't forgotten about his dental appt and still had the phone # . Which is even more reason to know she had his phone. One of the calls was to her dentist and Eric's dental exam was prepaid with his own dentist.

I don't know if he did or not, but as for the dates...A person can send a request to join a group and the request can be unaccepted for days, months or years. Then one day someone checks the requests and decides to accept it.

No one can verify a lot of this because there is a missing man who can't say what he did or didn't do and a woman who has told so may conflicting stories than no one knows what is true and what isn't that comes from her mouth.
