I contacted Gary Thomas of the Michigan State Police today..... I made him aware of someone on here who said "I could certainly give you another person of interest with definite motives ,but not here" . I felt this needed to be reported. I let him know he should be hearing from them with this info.... This thread was started to help find info to bring Eric home..

Thanks, Philigumbo. Love your user name, figured you were from Louisiana. You are spot on ! We have been discussing talking to a lawyer about some sort of legal action. Thank you for your input and kind words.

Nope! Originally from West Florida in the Panhandle. My user name is a combo of my name and a favorite food...file' gumbo.. :takeabow:

I would definitely speak with an attorney and see what can be done. Remember OJ...found not guilty and still was held responsible in civil court. I'm glad With Eyes Wide Open alerted LE about the mention of another possible suspect. Don't stop pushing...be the family that calls at least once a month to see what the status is. Let LE know you are not going away. Write to the Representatives and Senators. Hold vigils, post flyers...do anything you can think of to get Eric's name out there.

Thanks for your advice. The State Police have been told of another POI , but SS will have to call with the name and the definite motives before they can know who to talk to. We were told by the former Prosecutor in Saginaw, that we were not the typical family around there that reports someone missing. He said normally someone reports someone missing then they come back in the next day and say "never mind" because the person was in jail. We have been persistent and asked hard questions and sometimes some didn't like it. I have written to the State Attorney General's Criminal Division and they responded with advice at that point. They told me there were other channels to go through before they step in. My son-in-law gave me a list of officials in MI that I can contact. They are not our officials, as we are not in MI, but since Eric went missing there they should try to help. A vigil is good to consider. Posters have been put up in Saginaw a few times. We have been on the news in that area. Also, Eric's face and name is being spread more than ever as a direct result of Websleuths and their connections, which led to other connections. I appreciate everyone's help.

Something I was thinking - unless you were already doing that kind of 'business', it would be pretty hard to find a car wrecking place willing to take a car illegally, with just one phone call.

I mean, if I was doing shady business and someone called and asked me if I'd take a vehicle without paperwork, I'd be suspicious it was authorities checking up.

It would take lots of subtle calls, or more likely, visits in person.

So I'm wondering if Eric's car really was crushed, of if it was just dumped somewhere that it hasn't been found yet. Or even somewhere that the person/persons just knew it would be stolen?

I am loathe to say/ask this, but it has been said KF had family or might have known some people in LE?
If anyone would know where to take a car for dumping with no questions asked I would think LE would be a good place to start (Not saying they know because they are themselves involved, but they do have inside tracks on what you might call "not so legal" activities.)

ETA- Also, I know Saginaw is a larger city but Buena Vista itself is not that big. I think in the small towns people pretty much know everything about everyone, and likely KF and JC would have known what places would take the car without the paperwork.

Yes, according to public documents that were shown to our family, JC's father used to be a police chief and they have business associations with a former Saginaw judge. The judge said he was the bank and KF was the business. I hope the police looked into what you are talking about. I just know that we were told by the original BV detective that no one with a salvage yard in MI would take a car without a title because they would lose their license. Of course, we all know not all businesses are reputable.

It has been suggested to Eric's family that his car could have been driven and abandoned along the way to a certain destination or burned or sold. There are so many possibilities. Some of the Airport Rd neighbors said they felt it was disassembled in the pole barn and flown over water a little at a time and dropped into the lakes...along with his body.

BBM

That takes quite a bit of planning. Premeditation.
And a whole lot of evil.

I think that would be really unusual. When murderers dispose of victims in their vehicles, they almost always dump the vehicle and victim in wilderness, water, or burn it.

The only case I know of where a vehicle was (allegedly) disassembled was Dellen Millard in Canada, a rich young man who owned a former airfield. Now accused of murdering Tim Bosman, for his vehicle.

Philigumbo, I spoke with my local lawyer today who handles some matters for me now and then. She is going to do some research for me and find out what our best options are and possibly give me some names that will be willing to help us.

Talking to the lawyer today made me remember that the lawyer's child was in the same preschool class as Eric's stepson. It made me remember how Eric attended the open house activities along with Vee for her son like any dad. Eric didn't look at that little boy as her son, he felt he was their son. Eric loved that child.

Seriously Searching, please do call Sgt/Det Thomas about the person of interest with definite motives. He is aware of your suspicions of someone other than JC and KF, so you must call him if you haven't already. You can remain anonymous, but the purpose of this discussion was to find Eric and make the police aware of any tip that could possible help. We, as Eric's family and friends, do not know of other POI. The other people in Saginaw who knew Eric have been talked to and are not considered POI. Thank you for your help. You indicated you were really busy and that you may not be posting, but still will be helping anyway you can. So, if you haven't already made that call, please do it today.
