Not in any Hotels I have ever been in (In the US or Canada).

You have to keep in mind also that this was a "Mom & Pop" type hotel, not like a big chain. At least judging by the pictures I saw I am assuming that.
However, if FG had a key I am sure the Hotel would know since Eric worked for them also. If he asked for a spare key, that would stick out to them (since he was staying alone and really only knew FG in that town).

I think there was only one key.

The motel owner told me that FG turned in THE key and collected a key refund. It is a very small motel run by a man and his family. Eric stayed in a nicer chain motel when he first got there and probably couldn't afford to stay there long. He said he wasn't comfortable in the one he was in, but I guess it was affordable. Of course, the owner and the housekeeper had keys.

When Eric first went to Saginaw, he posted something on FB about he might be too late because FG was seeing someone else. He didn't give a name and maybe didn't know a name. Her husband told Eric's aunt she had many boyfriends and had been cheating on him since they got married. Eric's aunt was on FB shortly with her and the only other friends listed were male. Eric's aunt messaged each of them, but no response.

So no matter who is actually guilty in the disappearance of Eric it still all goes to FG and crew holding the truth regardless if she actually did it or not she's guilty of giving false information.

IMO Legal issues or not, if she was not at all involved in Eric's disappearance...she would be eager to help and be forthcoming with factual information. The fact that her story changed AND she has been wishy washy speaks volumes.

An innocent person has nothing to hide.

Ask yourself - Why is someone else so involved with supporting the cause - and there's only ONE post from her. How many pics did you see HER in?

It seems as though she is attempting to be invisible.

Just think how easy it would it be for "someone" to have Eric's room key duplicated at a local hardware store; to make an additional copy (copies) on the sly. Motels normally have standard doorknobs and lock sets. The oldest trick in the book, cutting a key takes a minute or two, are inexpensive, and no questions are asked.

Honestly, I know places like Millers that are in Mid to Northern MI.
It is very unlikely they use the card/scan type keys for their doors.
I think it would have been an actual hard metal key.
A lot of those places are "old-timey" cabin like motels.

Here are a couple a things I am pondering:

You are not wrong.
This is, definitely, an old timey-mom n pop motel.
You can see for yourself with google earth.
I tried to get up to the door to check the lock, but, was unable.

Some of Eric's family went there and met the owner and housekeeper and watched her open a door to clean the room. Though it didn't seem important at the time to take note of HOW she opened the door, I just spoke to one of my sisters who was there also and we both are almost 100% positive that it was a metal key. I can call the motel owner and ask. The owner and I had several conversations on the phone. I also had talked to his wife and son on the phone and met his son when I met the owner.In the beginning of the investigation in BV, I reported to the lead investigator's boss that the detective made prejudice remarks about the heritage of the motel owner, stating he didn't trust persons with that last name. That's unkind and unfair. He also said he didn't trust motel owners. Yet, he said the first time he met FG he knew she was lying. I asked about search of the room and the grounds around the motel. I asked about interrogating the motel owner (not because I didn't believe him, but to have his story on video) and I was told by state police that they believed him, he had always been consistent, and they had his story on record. Persons involved with Eric while he was in MI were talked to.There never has been any other suspects from the start other than the ones we discuss as far as we've been told. Certainly, Eric's family is open to anything that could have happened and welcome any ideas. We just want to know what happened to him. We keep going back to the emails...someone had access to his passwords and contacts. I'm the only one who received a message supposedly from him in Nov 2011. Someone wanted me to think Eric was alive. I was the one talking to police and persons on the Elite page were told about that the day before I got the email. His closest friends weren't contacted and he was in contact with them almost daily. Sometimes more than once a day. Eric's family deeply appreciates your interest, concern for Eric and his family and your help.

Eric's mom...while I am no expert at this, I am a Mom. I feel your pain and heartache in every post. I wish, more than anything, that you get the answers you are entitled to and deserve.

You should know that here, you are in the company of some incredible people. Every one of them dedicated to helping you. I am honored to be in their company and yours.
