That's good. I appreciate your help. There is a lot going on in FL right now that is confusing to me.

There is some "sleuthing" going on in the south right now that may prove helpful to Eric's case. We are praying it will bring some answers.

I agree. I believe they know much more and they are very shady.

I, also, agree with Rose. As Eric's wife, you would be privy to certain
Information.

As Eric's wife, could a person get power of attorney (due to him being missing) with legal powers and access to all his accounts, etc?

ETA: I should have said, acccess to all his account information there. NOT trying to suggest Eric's wife is interested in anything but helping his mom find out where he is.

I am not sure, as, I believe the laws differ in each state. In this case, I would think Vee has some rights as Eric's legal wife in whatever state she resides.

I was just thinking in terms of 'next of kin' when a person is married? I thought it would be a spouse, most places.

I know it opens up legal issues re money, but it also gives someone power to act on his behalf, and get information. That could be so important in this case.

If Vee & Eric did not file divorce papers; she is legally entitled to act as his wife. I think the only thing she'd have issues with may be medical due to HIPAA laws

Because of the privacy laws, it's hard and sometimes impossible to be given private records if you do not have durable power of attorney and a missing or deceased person can not give that permission.

Even spouses have to have durable power of attorney. Some spouses wouldn't want their mate to have access to their records.

She sure could try. She hasn't gotten a call back from Det Thomas yet.

Trying to catch up a bit here since I've been so busy. Work work work.
OK about divorce papers unless he filed there has been no filing on this end
And Eric's mom, hopefully that holds something to go on with what's going on here. At least the beginning of it anyway.
And that detective never answers a phone or calls back
Guess I'll just have to keep trying.

Thanks, Vee. Eric's high school friend now in TX hasn't heard back either and she called several weeks ago. The sleuth who was able to talk to him right away just happened to get him at his desk I guess. It's hard to get to talk to him. Keep trying and leave messages.

Missing in Michigan Day is May 17th in Flint at the U of MI on Harding Mott campus in the University Place building. The round table discussion will be from 9:am to 11:30 am. Limited seating requires a reservation. My sister and I have registered for that. There is a break after that till 1:00 and the day continues till 5:pm. Sarah Krebs ,with the state police and NamUs, has invited the media including national news. She advised me to get with them and try to get Eric's story on the news. Contact info: [email protected] or call her (313)215-0675. Hope to meet some of you there. They ask that people wear yellow shirts with their missing person's picture on them. We plan to do that. Sarah will have a picture of Eric on the large screen when the names of missing persons are called.

The CUE Center in Wilmington, N.C. is hosting a "Roadside Rally" on May 25th . It's a public awareness event to get missing and unsolved homicide cases back in the public eye and in the media. That day is National Missing Children's Day. Plans are to host it on Carolina Beach Rd. in Wilmington. It is from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. Contact info is Monica Caison (910) 342-1131 or (910)232-1687 email: [email protected] website: www.ncmissingpersons.org Eric's aunt lives very near there and is planning to attend that day wearing a missing flyer shirt of Eric and handing out flyers. Eric was born in N.C. and it's good to get his face and story out to the public and media any way we can. I appreciate, I think it was FBEye, originally putting me in touch with CUE Center.

Have you heard from Monica/CUE again? Is there a possibility that a search could be requested, scheduled, and coordinated for the radius around the Airport Road and Miller's motel properties?

No,not about Eric specifically. Just about general info like the Rally they are having, to invite me. I can mention that to Eric's aunt when she and maybe some friends go for the Roadside Rally on the 25th. It should have been a priority early on for the police to have searched that area, but it still would be a good idea. Thanks.
