I am literally speechless.
I saw some of this alluded to in prior posts but I never knew what was being referenced.

She has discussed Erics case in interviews?

Thank you for info Rose.
Going to look into this more later....seriously, I am floored.

I sent a request to Dateline about possibly covering Erics case on an episode, but have not heard back yet.
I wonder if Erics Mom is allowed to tell them about this.
It would certainly bring even more interest to his case (that the last person to see him is now in the news...).

PS- EricsMom, not saying his case is not worthy of being featured, just that we all know these shows like to have stories that "grab attention". This new situation would add to the feature, I should think.

Eric's mom has been working on it

Eric's mom is also looking into a new show Last seen alive

Nymeria....I wouldn't really let these concerns stop me from visiting MI. I would love to come!

The only thing stopping me from travelling is my hound - I don't go anywhere without him but I'm afraid he will get decompressed in the luggage hold if I take him on a plane.

But in future, if you are in MI and you see a very small, scruffy woman looking lost and being nice to every dog she sees.....that'll be me. Be nice. :)

ETA: The favor will be returned if you ever visit Germany....

Let me know if you ever decide to visit. Warm welcome here, if you can say 'Guten morgen', and you never waste food. :)

Eric's mom has been working on it

I emailed Date Line and heard back quickly. They said they normally don't do those kinds of stories, but would see what they can do. Maybe it would be good if they got several people requesting to see Eric's story air. I think I mentioned the new turn of events, but am not for sure. I think one of the people involved was in the news at the time, but not both. Someone said they like stories that have an ending already. I watch Dateline, but never noticed if they are all solved cases. It would be easier for someone to pick it up to air if names had been put out there. My to do list has the" Last Seen Alive" on it. Today when I went to make copies of Eric's flyers, a lady said she hoped I found whoever that was missing and I told her the story. She said, "That should be on Dateline." She said I'll be watching for it.

So...the question for me is, if someone is putting themselves out there, all over the internet and MSM, in order to raise money for personal reasons.....is it okay for them to still expect privacy with regard to anything they would prefer to forget?

Like....freedom of the press is okay, as long as it suits me?
I posted today on one of those sites that we are sorry for their situations and that we would pray for them, and requested prayer for my son. The two stories are intertwined no matter how much it isn't desired. As I posted, if Eric wasn't missing and was able, he would be there to support his daughter.

Has Vee had any luck contacting LE?
As of yesterday, she still had not heard back. Neither had Eric's high school friend that lives in TX now. She called maybe a couple of months ago.

I talked to Terry Camp this morning. He is still trying to help Eric's family find answers. He made a visit to the court house checking on some documents and planned to do some door knocking later. I do appreciate his dedication after all this time to still be calling me and helping us.

I am being very careful here but....the latest video? Talk about the elephant in the room.....

Former girlfriend now believes she is immune from any further questioning about Eric's disappearance, I believe. Even though she appears to have been the last known person to have seen him, and have given inconsistent information.

Tragic circumstances have given her a pass. She may be right. She might never have to answer a single question from authorities here on earth again.

....but some people believe it's not authorities here on earth a person has to worry about, come judgement day. I suppose we will all find out, one day. Some sooner than others.
Yes, we will all stand before the judgement seat of God and give an account of the deeds done in this body....whether good or evil. I hope FG and family have a change of heart and tell the truth about what they know. I would think the kind of situation they are facing would cause that, but time will tell.

It is unfortunate, but, tragedy usually brings out compassion in people.
I am hopeful that a tragedy of this magnitude will really light a spark of humanity
In FG and she will do what she should have done long ago and tell the truth. From one hurting mom to another.

Dateline does some shorter segments on unsolved cases called Missing in America. Here is the one on a case we talk about here:

Eric's Mom, did you already contact anyone at Disappeared on ID?

I watched this and one thing that stood out to me (of course other than the pain in Heather Elvis' parents' faces and voices) was how a search was done and banners were put up. Eric's family was told throughout the time the BV police were investigating not to put up flyers or get on tv. My son-in-law was even told to tell me there was no need for us to come to Saginaw. When we did go, one of my sisters drove from MS and one from NC to go with me and the detective wouldn't even show us the courtesy of meeting with us. A friend of a friend , Mr. Tucker, in Clio, MI offered to organize a hunt with dogs and was discouraged by the police. Mr. Tucker called me and said he didn't want to get in any trouble doing a hunt without permission. As I've said before, Eric's family just went to the property owners and asked for permission and was given permission right away. No one had asked them.

Is that a program?

Yes. ID (investigation discovery) is a cable network that is ONLY investigative shows. Disappeared is a very popular show. In my house (and most people I know) everyone is hooked. They have solved missing cases and unsolved. You should get in touch with them!

I will try to find any contact info for you.

Disappeared has been cancelled and renamed (I think I read it on this board somewhere).

Really?
I checked the website and FB and didn't see any mention.
I will keep looking for updates.

In reference to your question, Nymeria, I don't know of any time FG has mentioned Eric's case in her public interviews on tv or in the newspapers or all of the fund raiser sites. It would be the perfect time for her to do that and help Eric's family find answers. I don't plan to hold my breath waiting for her to connect the two stories.
