We also talked with the Michigan Search and Rescue team members. I met the man, Don Tucker, who offered to search for Eric's body on the rental property of FG and husband and was discouraged from doing so by BV investigator. He said it was good to put a face to a voice. I appreciate his offer to help and his kindness over the phone. He said his team would go back and do another search if the MI State Police request it. He told me how successful their dogs are at locating bodies, even just bone fragments. We also talked to the team that goes under water with probes to find bodies. They said they were willing to go back into the well if the MI State Police request it. We will request that these things be done, but it's up to the State Police to ask for the teams to help.

Do you know the reason?
Mr. Tucker called me after he offered to the BV investigator, Det Sean Waterman ( now police Chief) for the MI Search and Rescue team to search the property with the dogs. He said the team could not do a search without the police cooperation. There would be a potential for a law suite without permission from the property owners. I had been told by the Det that no one was going to give permission to search that property. Eric's family went to Saginaw and asked the property owners if they cared if a search was done on their property and the wife said it was fine with her, she called her husband in front of us and he said it was fine with him. She said we give permission for Eric's family or the police to do a search. No one had asked permission before. She even invited us into the house, but we declined for two reasons. One: it probably wasn't a good idea since it was an investigation and two: we were told it was flea infested !

Interesting. So, if the property owner agrees...what's the problem?
Does LE need to give their blessing? If you had hired a PI, the PI wouldn't ask LE for permission. Especially after this long. Is the searcher uncomfortable searching the grounds without LE permission or presence?

Sorry for all the questions. I really don't understand what is stopping them from searching.

SAR has to be called in out of respect & to keep their reputation. Most are like that. The one that came out to search for Chris Sexton wanted to come back out but LE refused to call. He was found when he started decomposing
Now you're right; a PI would know of a company that does SAR without LE. I have the name of a company; just can't find it.

The MI state police did have the property searched after they took the case, but we were advised at last year's MIM to have the dogs search the well again because it's hard for dogs to sniff in water. We were told the dogs went down into the well. Det/Sgt Thomas said he trusted his source that did the search and didn't feel it needed to be done again. The MI Search and Rescue team said they would search the grounds again. I think the area around Miller's Motel should have been searched also even though I don't really think anything happened to him there. It was where FG said to the police in MI she last saw Eric as she helped him pack and leave for CA. Of course, she told so many stories that no one can say for sure which if any are true. I was told by Mr. Tucker they won't search without the police backing. I guess independent search teams would.

I apologize in advance for this cynical post, as I may have missed something--- Are we sure that FG and her daughter are very ill? Mods, please remove this post if inappropriate. Like I said, I'm just cynical. Been burned too many times believing stuff, IYKWIM.

ETA: I reported this post.

Hello, I'd like to introduce myself. I'm new to this board, I caught this story on the news and by chance found this site. A little about myself, I'm a fugitive recovery agent, fancy way of saying bounty hunter. I work primarily south east Michigan but as of late I've found myself further north in flint and Saginaw areas. I have added Erics picture to my person of interest file and will gladly show it around and hope we can get even a tiny hit.

Welcome Skiptracker! I tend to believe that someone in the Sanilac County area knows bits of information.

I have a few extra hours today. I'll review the prior postings and try to gain an idea of things better. On top of searching any social media sites Eric may have. A few simple words can set up a bigger picture for me.

Haha too bad we don't actually have a bounty on their heads. If only we could get this so called detective to actually do something up there.
Oh wait its still has to be decided by state police tho. Right?
Excuses excuses.
Then trying to talk to somebody up there is practically impossible.
I haven't been able to talk to anyone yet.
And from the way it looks if anybody is going to just disappear from anywhere and never be found Michigan is the perfect place to disappear from since they get in no hurry to find anybody even when they have been told who the prime suspects are.
Gonna be sad if this ends up like that lady who is missing a sister since 45 years ago.
All too sad. So ridiculous when they just will not do anything.

Skiptracker - Would you have an issue with us having you verified by a moderator as a professional? It takes only 2-3 minutes in a brief phone call.

I received an email today from the producer of Dateline, Fred Rothenberg, who interviewed and filmed my sister and I at the MIM Day Saturday. He spoke with Dan Slepian from Dateline that I had exchanged emails with recently. They are very interested in Eric's story and want us to keep in touch. He also asked a MI state police officer to keep him informed. I sent him the Fox news interview and the video showing some of the missing in MI. I informed him that Eric's aunt will be representing Eric's family at the NC missing Roadside Rally in Wilmington on Sat. the 25th. I asked if Dateline has an affiliate near there that could film her.
