Searchingfamily will have to answer that but I believe that is what they said... and that she was there two different times in a car that was NOT ERIC'S

That is what the motel owner says, yes.

laptop:

it may be worth your while to talk to pawn shop owners in the area of where he was staying

did he have any other valuables like jewelry, etc that someone would have pawned for cash?

and what reason would he have to lie about that? (just pointing that out) whereas the woman who has the changing story (one to family and one to LE) sure had a few different versions of where eric was last seen. eta: she also had six months to make up her story correct? (re: six month before mpr filed and LE involved???)

Dear searchingfamily,

I'm so so sorry you are going through this and I hope Eric is out there somewhere safe. But, as you say, this is very NOT like him.

I'm another that strongly believes that you should report the car stolen. It will bring more attention to the case. And, frankly, it is stolen because you have no idea where it is. IF Eric is driving it and LE pulls him over and books him for stolen vehicle, then that can quickly be cleared up. The important thing is to try to find him. IF someone is in possession of the car and they are found, then you will have more answers.

I also think you should hire a PI.

We've looked into reporting it stolen, but Archbold PD won't do it - not stolen from there. Buena Vista won't do it - they say no evidence it was stolen - just in the possession of someone who had permission. Police also say BOLO and stolen will both result in finding the car if it's in the road - only difference is in how Eric is treated when they find him.

just in case (pawn shops near saginaw):

(may be good place to send some flyers as well)

...

Thanks - would pawn shops keep record of who sold what? Can they tell us? Because we don't really know what his laptop looked like or the brand. Don't know what his phone was, etc. Don't think he had much else...

has Eric been entered into namUS yet?

Entered on Saturday per your suggestion. Got a message Sunday saying the case was deleted. Emailed asking why - no answer yet.

Our thinking goes the same way, obviously, but the police have interviewed several times and decided it was time to go public, so...

Did the eGF ever bring up child support or anything like that?

I'm pretty sure it's required by law to keep detailed records. Many criminals try to pawn stolen goods and LE wants a chain of custody so to speak.

Probably bc le has to submit something to them as well. You have to fight for this, actually demand it, bc a missing adult isn't treated the same as say a missing child is. A missing adult could in fact be missing on their own free will & don't wish to be found. I don't think that's the case here, though, & I personally think your whole family need to continuously contact le to get his Missing file online with NamUs as well as others.

This is kind of a long shot, and I'm not even sure it is do-able, but

Can you get a copy of the child's birth certificate or at least see a copy of it to see if he was named as the father at any time (at birth or sometime thereafter).

And, did he take out a life insurance policy while he was there naming said child as the sole beneficiary?

Eric has a strong online presence. Have le subpoenaed his online accounts to gather his ips linked with those accounts and therefore be able to backtrace his locale? Some sites do have tracking that could show his near gps coordinates...
