:bump:

I'm in tears listening to the young women that are now testifying today. I still am shocked that this is going on, and it is not front page news each day. Such a great judge that she is now allowing more young women to testify today; that they have been given strength from those that testified last week.

I would also say, that I'm more shocked that this WS thread that has so many victims is not one of the most visited/commented on at WS. I did not even know about this until two weeks ago through checking daily new threads, so thanks to those that :bump: this thread with your comments :blowkiss:

Why why why is this is not a #1 thread for comments? I fathom to think that media isn't covering due to protecting Olympics/Gymnastics?

Why is this not one of the #1 threads here?

ETA: Above question is rhetorical, and is just an emotional exclamation, not a critique, as I too did not know about this case at WS until very recently :grouphug:

I just tuned in a few minutes ago. While the Victim Advocate was reading the anon statement of #86, I watched Nassar's face. I wonder if he knew which girl this was. It seemed he was searching his memory (IMO). I wonder if he can even remember each individual girl since there were SO many.

As more of Nassar's victims speak in court, Michigan State has a Board of Trustees meeting Wednesday morning to announce that former Gov. John Engler will be named interim president of the university, sources told Local 4 and ClickOnDetroit.

Former Gov. Jim Blanchard will be brought on board as a special advisor, sources said.

Both former governors are graduates of Michigan State University.

Political insiders were talking about the potential of an Engler appointment last week. They duo is being brought in as a cleanup crew.

An investigation by Attorney General Bill Schuette is underway into who knew what at MSU, and the State House is planning an inquiry.

Nassar's crimes have also spurred action in Washington, D.C. A bill to protect young athletes which hadn't had much movement is now heading to President Donald Trump's desk. Nassar victims such as Jeanette Antolin, were behind the push.

Greetings from Jamaica :) Court must be on break as there's no live stream. Are these women getting as much time as those who testified last week? If so, this sentencing is going to take several days if there are 60+ victims/survivors who wish to make statements.

The House passed a bill on Monday night that protects amateur athletes from sexual abuse by enforcing mandatory reporting regulations and extending the statute of limitations for child victims.

The bill, which was sponsored by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), came up for a vote one week after Larry Nassar was sentenced in what was the largest sexual abuse scandal in sports history. Congress agreed to use the Senate’s version of the bill to speed up its passage; it passed with a vote of 406-3. It just needs President Donald Trump’s signature to be made into law.

FYI, the 3 who voted against the bill are: Representatives Amash (R-Mi), Massie (R-KY), and Sanford (R-SC).
