The human remains recently found in Shelby Township are that of a Rochester man who disappeared nearly three years ago, authorities confirmed Tuesday.
A skull and other bones discovered Saturday in a creek near 25 Mile Road and Dequindre Road by a passerby, according to officials.
Authorities, though, do not suspect foul play in the death, which Rochester police believe could have been a suicide based on the circumstances surrounding the disappearance Vander Weit had talked about suicide prior to leaving the home. No weapons were found at the scene.
