The man, Gregory Thomas Smith, was last seen at 6:30 p.m., Aug. 6, before he reportedly walked away from an adult care home in the area of Wolf Lake Road near Mack Island Road in, according to an alert from the Jackson County Sheriff's Office.

No photo of Smith is available at this time, police said.
Smith is described as 5-foot-9-inches-tall, 160 pounds with white hair and a white beard. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, black jeans, brown boots and a blue and tan hat, police said.

George Thomas Smith was found by police at about 9:30 a.m., Aug. 8, lying in a swamp area near a cornfield south of the Wolf Lake Road care home he walked away from on Aug. 6, Jackson County Undersheriff Christopher Kuhl said.

Emergency medical personnel were called to render aid to Smith, who had been exposed to the rain and elements for the last 36 hours, Kuhl said. He was taken to Henry Ford Allegiance Health for further treatment, he said.

Smith's condition is unknown, but it is believed he will be OK, Kuhl said.
