[h=1]Central Michigan University shooting leaves two dead, gunman on the loose[/h] by Corky Siemaszko

The sprawling Central Michigan University campus was on lockdown Friday after two people were killed and police were hunting for an "armed and dangerous" gunman, university police confirmed.

Neither of the victims found dead at Campbell Hall were students and police identified the "person of interest" as 19-year-old James Eric Davis.
Investigators believe a domestic dispute may have sparked the fatal attack, police said.

The shooting was reported around 8:30 am CT (9:30 a.m. ET) on the fourth floor of the dorm, according to the city of Mount Pleasant, which issued a preliminary description of the suspect.

Just watched news update- Suspect still at large, 19 yr old suspect just got out of hospital this morning. They reported it is a domestic shooting, will not verify names right now.
Parents who are expected today to pick up students for the start of spring break are to meet at a central location as school is on lock-down right now.
Hopefully they will catch him soon.

NPR is reporting that the victims are the parents of the 19 year old suspect.

Wonder why the suspect's parents were in the dorm early this morning? Reports that suspect had been released from hospital at 8:00AM. Possible drug overdose or reaction. More to this saga...

Davis was released from the hospital this morning, shortly before the shooting.

Police said they had contact with him late Thursday night and took him to a local hospital, where he was turned over to the medical staff for what police believe may have been some sort of drug-related issue.
Police said cameras located in the common area and exits of the dorm captured Davis leaving the dorm, headed north and running along train tracks. Police said they had recovered pieces of clothing along the tracks.

JMO

Here is my theory on what happened.

I think he was forced to go to the hospital because he was on drugs and then when his parents came to pick him up he was still upset about being forced to go to hospital that he killed his parents.

A young 19 year old "no good" person that did not deserve his caring parents. Hope LE arrests him quickly and he spends rest of his self caused miserable life behind bars.

Where did he get the gun? CMU is a gun-free campus. Students, faculty, campus staff are not permitted to carry weapons.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if meth was involved....my ex went to the hospital numerous times for meth psychosis...he would get extremely violent, would talk his way into being released, rinse and repeat. The police actually never believed me the first time, until they picked him up at a hotel later for the same thing and found meth.
I think this could be something similar. Not even that he is necessarily mad at his parents per se, my ex wasn't mad at me, but the psychosis causes extreme violent reactions. Kid may not have been completely sober upon release.
