College students are awarded academic and/or artistic scholarships, too. Not just sports.

Yes, you're correct. I've done some searching on his background and haven't seen anything regarding a scholarship
although one hs friend said he was serious about his studies.

I just thought of a possible scenario and maybe a motive:

On Davis's Twitter , some weeks back he mentioned wanting to go to Europe or Aspen on Spring Break- Did he
screw up w/ drugs and parents were called to come get him and he refused to go home with them, thinking he
could go off somewhere for spring break? Maybe he got into fight w/ parents so he killed them.

PS/ If he did overdose Thurs. eve., or have a bad reaction to drugs as reported by LE, those drugs most likely
were not totally out of his system (and brain) and he reacted violently.

It really doesn't sound like he was in his right mind at all.......

JD thought someone wanted to harm him. LE determined it was unfounded. LE and Mom suspected his behavior might be drug related. LE took him to the hospital because he wasn't acting normally, felt it was best place for him to be monitored/checked out. He was picked up by parents from hospital next morning.

....while parents were in his dorm room Davis, jr. went to the parking lot and got a gun out of his car, came back to his
dorm room and shot father then mother. Another student used his phone to record Davis jr. coming from parking lot w/ gun in his hand.

Forensics on gun match gun used.

From another site, there were at least 2 other students in dorm rm when shooting took place and had to climb over
Davis, sr. who was sprawled across doorway on floor.

thanks for the update, that's pretty much what I thought. So what hospital did he actually go to, since McLaren denied he was ever there yesterday. Originally they said he got the gun from his dad when they got back to the dorm.....apparently that was not the case?

did LE just clarify Davis jr got gun from his father's car? So gun belonged to father, should not have had gun on campus
per CMU policy.
LE said 'life was not making much sense to Davis jr when we picked him up".

I think the hospital was UofM....I only caught the end of it.

So his mother agreed with LE who called her when they first saw son Thurs. eve. that it could be 'drugs'.
Did he have previous problem with drugs?
Did he decide to take more powerful drugs and had a bad reaction?
Did he get a hold of a bad batch of drugs laced with other things?
He was 5'10" and only weighed 135 lbs., was he not eating and doing drugs everyday like a friend said?

I can’t believe this. Gun free zone?

Maybe that's not the right term. But I've seen several statements that have said no guns allowed on campus.

Yeah, but how easy is it to enforce that in reality? Pretty difficult I would imagine. I'm sure there is a penalty if caught, but that's unlikely unless you are waving it around all the time. Why was this student just filming him and not calling 911 if he saw him coming back with a gun?

Concerned regarding the possibility that the hospital discharged this young man sooner than they should have??? It happens a lot.

That's what I was trying to say earlier in this whole thread. I've been in almost this exact situation, including someone thinking I was trying to kill them
