According to Reed, she expects her client to be in a courtroom on Monday.

Legal expert and attorney Todd Flood shared with Local 4 what charges Gentz will likely face.

“Realistically he’s going to face first degree murder. First degree murder is premeditated murder. He could get conspiracy to commit murder if he did it with someone else or at the instruction of someone else it could be conspiracy as well,” said Flood.

“The second person if there is one is solicitation to commit murder.

If he asked Joe to do it and he was going to pay Joe, he also could be facing first degree murder as well because he aided and abetted with Joe. The aider and abettor is going to be just as guilty as the one who did it,” said Flood.

Police took handyman Joseph Gentz into custody Friday. Deputies were waiting for him as soon as he came off the elevator in Macomb County Circuit Court where he was for an unrelated child custody case.
Sources tell 7 Action News, Gentz walked into the courtroom on his own and was not arrested on a murder warrant but rather a warrant for probable cause.
Channel 7 Legal Analyst Tom Cranmer says the arrest may have something to do with forensic evidence taken from the Bashara garage.

New developments in the murder investigation of Grosse Pointe Park mom Jane Bashara are expected as early as Monday.

Local 4 is hearing from Joe Gentz’s attorney for the first time and sources are revealing another person may soon be charged with her murder.

It's too bad that JG didn't go to the police before all this happened and told them about the plot for murder!! They could of saved JB life and set bb up for Murder. I know JG was a bit disabled but it sure would of been a lot easier to nail bb for trying to hire a hitman and a life would of been saved.

I thought the same when the news broke.

If and when JG is needed to testify against bb, I sure hope he can be credible in court!!! I sure hope bb is arrested in person and not him and his attorney turning themselves in at the station. They say that they don't think JG would be released on bond, do you think they would do that for bb?

GROSSE POINTE (WWJ) - Joseph Gentz has been charged in the January 24 murder of Jane Bashara.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy Monday announced that Gentz, the former handyman for the Grosse Pointe Park woman, has been charged with First Degree Murder and Conspiracy to Commit Murder.

I know what JG did was wrong and so did he, but I can't help but feeling a bit sorry for this man that was manipulated into wrongdoing!! Thank god he came forward to admit his guilt and unlock a lot of info to bb.

Your welcome. I feel the same way. Joe could be easily manipulated and "Master" bob would be practised between his Business life and Private. Based on accounts read. Joe came clean because he couldn't live with it. Yet Joe was in a Custody Battle at the time. Reports indicate his Daughter was important to him. He had to know coming forward would end any custody. This is one case where i really wont mind the Defense wanting a lighter sentence and/or a deal. (My opinion based on information as of today)

ITA. I feel sorry for JG. He was obviously manipulated. I suspect he would have never done such a thing were it not for being taken advantage of. I think in some ways he has shown himself to be rather a stand-up guy. Not excusing what he did. I just don't think he would have ever hurt a fly until BB got a hold of him. Although, I feel more sorry for Jane.

"He's concerned," Reed said. "He's worried and he's anxious, and that's to be expected."

When asked about the conspiracy charges, Reed added "conspiracy means they believe more than one person is involved."

Reed also said no plea deals have been discussed with her by prosecutors.

Wayne County Assistant Prosecutor Patrick Muscat referred comment Monday afternoon to the prosecutor's office.

Gentz, who was remanded, is to have a preliminary hearing 1:30 p.m. March 16.

Agree. If the report we heard early in that bob had a gun to Joe's head I don't doubt that either. I found it interesting also when it was referenced that a foot was applied to Jane's neck that was all it said. Appears worded that it happened but Joe didn't do it. Cant remember if that was in print or on the news early in.
