Report: Alleged Bashara Mistress Wants Protection

... Attorney David Grim said his client has not kept in touched with his former girlfriend.

“My client has not been in contact with her. We have not seen the proposed personal protection order,” Grim told WWJ Newsradio 950.

Grim said the woman, Rachel Gillette, may be reacting to information his office has developed.


“Our investigators have developed several persons of interest in our search for the truth,” said Grim. “I would indicate to you that Rachel Gillette is one of those persons of interest that we have developed.”

Grim added that he has seen no evidence that Gillette has grounds for a PPO.

“Anybody can walk in, make allegations and attempt to get a personal protection order,” he said....

... "Knowing Bob is a No. 1 suspect in his wife's murder, (Gillett) is petrified. He's not the same individual she thought she knew," Elder said. "She is a potential witness if she's called at a trial. If he is leading a double life they can't prove it without her testimony. If she's gone, Bob benefits from it."

Elder said Gillett and Bashara dated for several years, but the whole time, he claims, Bashara told Gillett that he and Jane had been separated and were divorcing. Within the last six months, Elder added, Bashara allegedly told Gillett that the divorce was final and at one point, they were shopping for homes together.

But Gillett attempted to end her contact with Bashara, after his wife's body was found Jan. 25 inside her SUV in an alley near Seven Mile in Detroit, Elder said.

Even so, Bashara allegedly continued to reach out to Gillett with anonymous phone calls and even placed a crucifix of palm leaves in her mailbox on Easter weekend and, on another occasion, left an envelope with his handwriting containing unspecified documents.

Attorney Doraid Elder, who is representing Gillett, said he contacted Griem about Bashara&#8217;s attempts to reach his client. He said Griem &#8220;called back saying he was very grateful,&#8221; and that the efforts would stop.

Griem, though, said: &#8220;The conversations were to the effect that our two clients should not be having contact with each other with this ongoing criminal investigation and that both of us should warn our clients that they should not be talking to each other, texting each other, sending carrier pigeons back and forth.&#8221;...

However, Elder said the efforts by Bob Bashara continued after he spoke to Griem...

DETROIT - Bob Bashara has been served a personal protection order from his alleged mistress.

Rachel Gillett's attorney said she is scared for her life.

Gillett wants Bob Bashara to stay away: No talking, no texting, no visiting or emailing.

"It's pretty much Rachel's way of telling the court, look, I'm afraid of this guy," said her attorney, Doraid Elder. Elder filed the petition for a personal protection order on Thursday.

"She's petrified. She just wants him to leave her alone and hasn't done that," Elder said.

The Macomb Daily reported in February that Gillett was fired from her job at Wayne State University after she left work on Jan. 25 &#8212; the day Jane Bashara&#8217;s body was discovered in a Detroit alley &#8212; and never returned. A number of reports have suggested Gillett and Bashara led a secret sex life in Detroit&#8217;s S&M underground scene and also traveled out of state together. Bashara has referred to her as a friend...

Rachel Gillett, widely known as Bob Bashara's mistress, has filed a personal protection order against him, claiming she fears for her life. Bashara was seeing her during his marriage to Jane Bashara up until Jane's murder earlier this year. That's when Rachel says she broke it off. But it seems Bob can't take a hint. So what does this mean for the yet unsolved murder case? Fox 2's Ron Savage has the story.

Oh boy, I knew RG wouldn't just fade into the sunset. She's tap dancing now. BB's coming after her and wants to see her behind bars I bet. This should get interesting.

How could RG NOT have known, after five (not three) years of hooking up with BB while living in the same small community where Bob and Jane performed civic duties together, that Bob was a married man. If RG hadn't made that claim, I might have believed the part about her being afraid of him.

If what Rachel Gillett alleges is true, that Bob was harassing her, would not leave her alone etc --- Bob must be a total idiot, ... being POI in murder investigation, his attorney clearly telling him NOT to contact her or / and let himself be contacted by her, etc ... and he still does it ... --- BRAINLESS!!!

Just yesterday i was looking for an older article and photo in it (to see something) ... it was either from late January or early February (i forgot now already) .. and i DID find it (in Search box at the source) .. and then i Clicked on it .. and at the link it told me, LOL :banghead: "Unfortunately, the link you are trying to access is no longer available" ... - Hmmmm .. 2 or 3 months ... and .. some of them are totally gone (??)

Hopefully it's only at some sites like that, and not at all sites.... but still..... -- that is why i like to see some details in the post (especially the important points of the article) ... this way, if the link at the Source is no longer - we STILL have those details here ... and the original source is still mentioned in the post ( if it doesn't work any longer, it's not our problem then, but theirs ).

Some forums that i visit .. for years C/P the entire articles in posts .. and NO PROBLEM.
The way i look at it .. if the Source is indicated .. and the original link to the Source is provided - it's not an offence.
Some Forums tend to take extra protection about this ... I understand.

But not that great (for everyone) - if after sometime click on the link for details and will find NOTHING is there at the source any longer .. and no details in the Forum's post either .. That sucks :banghead: LOL
