Here's what I jotted down today.
Mr. Paul Monroe took the stand (I tuned in late so I actually caught his name later).
He is acquainted with bb in two ways. First, his ex-girlfriend leased one of bb's apartment units and PM lived with her for a time (not sure when but prior to Jane's death). Second, he provided cocaine to bb.
The questioning became very confusing in that PM played a confuse 'um/can't remember/dumb act during some of the time he was on the stand. The Judge never stepped in to tell him to knock it off.
In June 2012, PM met bb at the Bolero gas station to deliver cocaine. The line of questioning involved the fact that PM had purchased the coke but didn't accept any money from bb for it - he gave it to him because sometimes people do that. Aside from that, at this time, bb patted PM down making sure he wasn't wearing a wire. After PM gave bb the cocaine, bb began to cry and said he had Joe kill his wife. (At first PM said bb said he killed his wife but PM corrected it to bb had Joe kill his wife.) When asked if bb explained why he had Jane killed, PM said that bb told him that he was going through a divorce, losing money and "can't lose everything". The testimony wasn't fluid - it had to be eked out of PM. Another point brought out was that bb was comfortable with PM due to the fact he's an ex-con. BB felt he could trust PM. When asked what he said after bb told him he was involved in Jane's murder, PM replied that he thought or said "wow".
Sometime after the exchange above (not sure when) bb took PM to see Griem. bb wanted PM to sign an affidavit implicating two other people in Jane's murder. The two being PM's ex-girlfriend, April M., and her then current boyfriend, who was living with her in the same apartment PM used to live in with her, Charles W. Apparently, those two owed bb money.
PM claims he never signed the affidavit. He called bb to discuss it but he can't recall how many times. When LE tracked down PM, he plead the fifth because he didn't want to be involved. When confronted with the phone records, PM gave up and began cooperating with LE.
Three sets of documents were discussed. Two of those are witness statements and the other is a statement about the cocaine transaction. Confusion followed regarding what happened on what date, when cocaine was exchanged. The first batch of cocaine PM gave to bb was in the amount of 50 grams. (Woe says wow!) The second time he provided bb cocaine the amount was a smaller unknown quantity. Neither PM nor bb were concerned about being involved in committing a felony at that time.
During one of the transactions (the smaller one?), they sat in the car for about an hour (bb snorted coke). bb asked PM to call in false tips regarding Jane's murder. Apparently PM complied but didn't receive money for doing so. PM said, "something else". He received something else. No further questions were asked regarding that comment. (I'm thinking dungeon privileges or in exchange for rent even though he claims he didn't live with April any longer.)
Back to the subject of the documents again. PM gave a witness statement on November 16 and a second one on November 19, 2012. He couldn't recall how long ago he reviewed his witness statements but claims it has been awhile.
The third document is dated July 10, 2013, on the subject of the cocaine deliveries. In the November 19 statement, PM claimed bb confessed that he was involved with Jane's murder. It remains unclear what month bb made this comment to PM (April, May or June). PM can't remember the exact details because that was a long time ago.
PM had phone contact with bb nine times on June 20, 2012.
The subject of $2,000 came up (payment for calling in the false tips?). The reason that PM expected payment isn't clear to me. PM received $89. He was somewhat peaved he never received the total payment promised.
bb called PM sixty-five times between April 27 and (didn't catch the date).
PM was asked why he was giving gifts of coke to bb when bb owed him money.
At some point PM uttered the word "favor". No one asked for an explanation.
Two additional names came up of people who sold cocaine to bb.
Mr. Monroe stepped down from the stand at approximately 3:12 p.m. EST.

The above is choppy but that's how the testimony was too. Plus the site kept stopping so I had to resume after missing a few beats.
Has everyone else but me heard of Mr. Monroe before? I may have glazed over his involvement earlier but don't recall anything about him, cocaine or the tenant, April M.
