What a circus today! With the alcohol/hand-sanitizer issue, calling jurors in and out of court and the ridiculously boring taping of
Tibaudo and his gallbladder - we sure didn't get far today. Judge wants this trial to 'move along' but I feel like she is holding things up.
I sure wish I could call a 'full day of work' approximately 4.5 hours with an hour for lunch. At this rate, we'll be here till Christmas! :banghead:

Drug dealer says Bashara admitted to having wife killed

Detroit — A sex offender who did odd jobs for Robert Bashara and a drug dealer who sold him cocaine testified Tuesday in the the eighth day of the Grosse Pointe Park businessman's murder-for-hire trial.

Paul Monroe, a convicted bank robber who rented a house and apartment from Bashara, said he met with his landlord six months after Jane Bashara's death.

Monroe said Bashara picked him up in his Lincoln Navigator and gave him $2,300 for two ounces of cocaine. Then, he said, Bashara snorted some of the cocaine and made a confession.

"He started crying," Monroe testified. "He said he had his wife killed. I said, 'why would you do that?' He said ... he was going through a divorce and money."

During previous testimony at Bashara's preliminary examination in September 2013, Monroe said Bashara told him a divorce would've been like losing money...

Outline of the morning of day eight.

10:04 a.m. Judge Evans just took the bench

Ralph Lee is the first witness on the stand. Lee worked as handyman at an apartment complex for bb.
Lee knows Thomas Ramsey, another tenant of bb's, who did plumbing work for bb.
Was introduced to Rachel Gillett at a BBQ in the courtyard of the apartment complex. bb introduced RG as his girlfriend.
During the time RL worked for bb, he met Jane Bashara. When asked if she was nice, Lee said: "Oh, very nice."

Paul Monroe is called next. Monroe rented from bb in 2006.
PM is on the stand from 11:21 a.m. until 12:10 p.m. when court adjourns for lunch.
