Bravo, glad you had a safe trip to and from the courthouse. The icy weather is moving in early this year - ugh!

Interesting observations regarding Wm. S's demeanor. Do you think the jurors realize how bb preys on the less advantaged? He found tenants who he could manipulate. It seems he needs to feel he's the boss and tries to control people using fear tactics. The handymen were put in a very bad situation after their duties crossed over to having to protect bb. I believe they really were afraid.

Thanks so much and I agree. Bob sure knew who to surround himself with for the shady side of him. The Jurors do seem attentive and Prosecution seemed to hammer those points in their questioning. Fear of Bob, fear of losing work and or being kicked out of their apt's that Bob owned. IMO Bob was nothing but a slum lord who took advantage of folks. I just wish the Judge would stop with constant questions which have nothing to do with evidence in the moment. Breaks are longer than she states and Court never starts on time. Tough on the Jurors.

HOLY TOLEDO, Woe!!! That was fantastic! See-- if court had longer hours they'd be able to fit in twice the witnesses! ha! Thanks, again!

Hi--- i think that street is Beaubien----I live in a Detroit suburb---- my boss knew Bob and Jane from being rotararians-they went to her funeral--- my boss is such a hoot--he is so naive--- when the story broke 2 years ago he said oh a rotarian couldn't do that --- we haven't talked about it since

Bravo- thanks for your courtroom reporting--wish the case was being streamed----i don't understand why the judge interrupts and asks do many seemingly irrelevant questions

I'm so glad I'm not the only one p.o.'d about the way this judge runs her courtroom. I know the wheels of justice turn slowly but this is RIDICULOUS! And those questions to the witnesses!! OMG!! If she wants to step down from the bench & practice law again she should just do it! Of course, she wouldn't be guaranteed to make the $140k/yr +, in addition to all the perks she's pulling in as a judge. Whatever. If I was an attorney before her, I'd be PIZZED after working so hard on questions or the witnesses only to be interrupted by her & lose my momentum! Arghhhhh!!!!

If u follow Gina's blog the same complaints have been from the get go. I never commented as to the Judge on the blog as I always want to see both sides before forming an opine. I saw it. I now have an opine LOL. Sad part is she is so kind and so attentive to Jurors and Witnesses. Yet she is not respectful of their time or the Lawyers. Jurors are pop tarts. In and out. Lawyers are pop tarts. Everyone is in the Courtroom and I saw maybe 15 min. of argument. Yet Court starts later. Jurors are not allowed to take notes and with a Judge who drags it on...... All I can say is thank Gawd for closing arguments.
ETA- In the Aft. we were so weary. There was a point we were standing and sitting several times. Jury/Judge whatever. I remember the Baillif who was such a hoot looked at me and mouthed you can sit down now. I realized I was the only one standing LOL I was happy to stand those dang benches are hard to sit on!!! LOL

That is FUNNY (bailiff telling you to sit down)! I sure hope the prosecutors are working hard on their closing arguments (I'm sure they are), because you're right -- they'll be crucial. I'm glad you mentioned the hard benches - I'll be sure & wear my down coat so I can fold it up & SIT on it! After reading your posts about how slow it goes, I'm thinking...it sounds like watching paint dry. I'll let you know when I make a decision. Thanks, again, for all your insights, Bravo.

LOL I thought of that but was afraid they might take it away from me LOL First time I went they didn't take my lighter. Second time they did??? Took my Gal Pals purse size glass bottle of perfume. List of do not takes is huge.

BBM ~ Thanks for mentioning the jurors aren't allowed to take notes. The subject was discussed earlier but I couldn't remember if the rule applied only during the opening statements or for the duration of the trial.
What is the purpose of this rule?

There's no way I'd be able to remember testimony from witness numbers one and two by the end of the trial.
I can't even remember now!

Hi Bravo: how long more do they anticipate this trial will go on? At least we will be able to stream the closing arguments. Looking forward to it

With all of the slave, dungeon, master, etc. testimony coming in, do the jurors look at Bob like, what the hell??? i know if i was on that jury, I would be pretty disgusted with not only his lifestyle but how his lifestyle was the motive to kill his wife IMO

Judge states she wants this over by Thanksgiving. I'm thinking that's a stretch given the short days. I have not seen any expression from the Jurors toward Bob. My observation was Jurors attentive to whomever was testifying. Yeah Big Bob sure is a piece of work.

Agree I am all for note taking. I guess Jurors can hopefully fill in the blanks with each other.
