I was relieved to learn that Bob Bashara has been discharged from the Detroit Receiving. I sincerely hope that his "illness" wasn't feigned and that he had a legitimate reason for being hospitalized. I urge the jury to work diligently over the next two days to render a verdict without further delays. raying:

Not sure about per diem jury pay, but they probably would be reimbursed for travel. :moo:

Dark, I've sat on 3 trials. We never were paid for dark days. IIRC, $25/day for duty. Which at the time, I was paid full salary at my job minus what I received for jury duty.

Bette, Mileage and meals were on my own, and filed such on federal tax returns for such without direct reimbursement. Parking was/is in a major metro area. To park close, had to pay on our own (again, would be able to put on taxes). Yet we had the ability to park 3 miles away in a sports stadium parking lot which we were shuttled to and fro for cases for free.

Heard the news on WWJ radio as I was driving home (been gone since 10:00 this morning). I am glad to hear there's a verdict and no further delays. Fingers crossed...
