I agree. In light of what came out today, I am obviously thinking differently about this cousin. Really curious to know what this information is that he knew about the Heeringa case that hasn't been revealed to the public.

I was wondering if Willis was the one who abducted the girls and women, but both men were involved in the murders.

Given the new searches since his arrest, it's possible he knows where her body was hidden because he was involved. Could police be searching areas that are associated with the cousin?

Heeringa’s friend on Willis: ‘My gut says he did it’

Lunsford visited Heeringa at work on April 26, 2013, the night police say she was abducted. She has replayed the night over and over in her mind.

“I was at the gas station like three hours before she went missing, hanging out with her, and she was totally normal, everything was fine,” Lunsford recalled. “While I was there, I saw her talking to somebody in a gray minivan who sort of looked similar to this guy (Willis). But I can’t be for sure.”

Lunsford said the gray minivan was parked at a gas pump. Heeringa and the man were both laughing and talking as she got him a receipt.

I checked Google maps and see that the address given in the warrant is only 3.9 miles away from Beattie Road where they were searching yesterday.

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — Jeffrey Willis has been bound over to stand trial in the murder of Rebekah Bletsch.

Willis was arraigned in May on charges of open murder and felony firearm in connection to Bletsch’s murder. At a preliminary hearing Wednesday, a Muskegon County judge rules there is enough evidence to send the case to trial.

File on Jeffrey Willis’ computer labeled with Jessica Heeringa’s name
Video/article: http://woodtv.com/2016/06/22/file-on-willis-computer-labeled-with-jessica-heeringas-name/

MUSKEGON, Mich. (WOOD) — In a file titled “vics” on one of Jeffrey Willis’ hard drives, there was a folder labeled with Jessica Heeringa’s name, a source close to the investigation told 24 Hour News 8 on Wednesday afternoon.

The existence of the “vics” — short for “victims” — file was made public in court earlier Wednesday during Willis’s preliminary hearing in the murder case of Rebekah Bletsch. Also in the file was a folder labeled “RSB” — Bletsch’s initials — and a code that worked out to the date of her murder. The folder contained photos of Bletsch, photos of a woman who looked similar to her on a bed wearing only underwear and wanted posters in the Bletsch case.

Judge says Jeffrey Willis will stand trial for Rebekah Bletsch’s murder

Bletsch's relatives were in the courtroom Wednesday, and became emotional during the testimony about what was found on Willis' hard drive.

"It's heartbreaking. It hurts to hear how sick this man is, and what he's capable of, what he did, and what he could have done to her," Bletsch's sister Jessica Josephson said after the hearing.

This explains why police searched one of the properties recently:

"The MSP report, obtained via the Freedom of Information Act, said police searched a property in Mancelona — that’s in Antrim County in northern Michigan — in connection to the Heeringa case.

The property is owned by Norton Shores Police Office Shawn Stefanich. Willis, who was friends with Stefanich and called him just after his May arrest, also has a key to the cabin on that property because he would go snowmobiling there."

Does anyone else think they will wait until Rebekah's murder trial is over before charging him in connection with a crime relating to Jessica's case? I know he also has child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 charges.

Also as reported previously, Detective Sgt. Tom Flowers of the Michigan State Police Crime Lab testified about the sinister contents of Willis' silver minivan that he inspected.

One item was new to the public record: among the items recovered was a vial of insulin, Fowers testified.

I do think that a trial for the murder of Rebekah will give investigators enough time to build a case against Willis for the murder of Jessica, and that charges in Jessica's case may be laid at the end of the trial for the murder of Rebekah.

That is what happened in the case of Jessie Williams, who was responsible for the murders of Hannah Graham, and Morgan Harrington, as well as an attempted murder of a first victim. The trial for the attempted murder, where the most evidence was available, was held first. IIRC, charges for the other two came after that trial - but don't quote me on that.
