It could have been parked there all along. I didn't drive through there until today. It is pulled in front first into the parking space, so the missing license plate is obvious. It does seem a little too good to be true, but you can't rule anything out. It is parked in the very back of the apartment complex. I'm not sure how much traffic there is because there are two ways out of the complex from the back.

Thanks, on the last point I meant that the lot may have been fuller on Saturday and Sunday because more people were home from work. Whereas, on Monday, fewer cars may be parked in the lot making it easier to notice each one individually to include the missing license plate.

Has the video been released yet? I'm not seeing anything on 4's website for breaking news. (I grew up in Detroit Area so this hits too close to home for me)

No joke. The last time there was a van abduction in MI (for me anyways) was Diana Seifert and that didn't turn out so well. :(

Chief Dan Shaw has not yet seen the video and does not know if the license plate is shown in the surveillance.

Grand Haven Rd is the road that crosses Sternberg right by the Exxon station. The Strip mall is at the corner of Grand Haven Rd and Sternberg Rd. There is a Speedway to the South and a Jack's Corner Store to the North, both at least a mile away but probably more. I am terrible at guessing distance. There are other businesses in between...a few gas stations, a bar, an industrial park. Which makes me wonder...could they have tape from a factory survellience camera?

I'd love to see the original ad. I don't find a CL posting for a job odd at all.

"This posting has been flagged for removal. [?]
(The title on the listings page will be removed in just a few minutes.)"

The reason it bothered us is because it is for nights and weekends.
This gas station owner or manager has specifically said he likes to hire the pretty girls.
So we immediately thought about the "next pretty girl" that he would hire to bring in customers. *shudder*

If the Chief has not seen the tape yet, and we know about it.......then that is a ****** A__ police department!

There are only 4 businesses off the top of my head on N. Grand Haven Rd that could have captured the footage. There is the strip mall next to the Exxon, which is on the corner of Sternberg Rd and Grand Haven Rd. If that's not it and the perpetrator was traveling north on Grand Haven Rd, there is a movie theater and two gas stations. I don't believe any of the other businesses would have had cameras. The gas stations are across the street from each other. There is a Shell gas station is on the west corner of Grand Haven Rd and Airport Rd and a BP gas station on the east corner of Grand Haven Rd and Airport Rd.
