Michigan couple in their 80s were shot to death; Murder investigation continues

Jessie Seward, 81, and Virginia Seward, 80, were found dead in their home on June 24. Authorities have not announced any arrests in the murder case.

MONTCALM COUNTY, Mich. — The death certificates of a West Michigan couple killed in their home last month reveal how they died.

Jessie and Virginia Seward were found dead in their home on Beaver Drive near Sheridan on June 26. A family member went to check on them and found them both dead.

Based on evidence at the scene, police determined both died by homicide.

The medical examiner listed Jessie's cause of death as a gunshot wound to the head, while Virginia died of gunshot wounds.
