Deceased/Not Found MI - Jozlynn Martinez, 2, Grand Rapids, 24 Feb 2010

My husband just came up with a theory. What was Malmberg's relationship like with the father of Jozlynn? Is it possible that Mr. Rittenhouse, Jozlynn's father, paid Malmberg to bring Jozlynn to him? Or paid him to gain access to her? Just a thought.

I sure hope so! Odd that he hasn't been located and his daughter is missing.

I think it is possible that LE knows where dad is, and it was just the media that couldn't reach him for comment.

I hate to say it, because that's Jozlynn's best chance to be safe right now, IMO. But I'm not entirely sure that *no one* knows where dad is.

That being said, it is very odd that LE hasn't really mentioned him, either.

I think Rittenhouse is "unreachable" from the media. Not LE.

Search continues for Jozlynn Martinez; Jeffrey Malmberg in court on kidnapping charges

GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM) - The suspect in the disappearance of a two-year-old Grand Rapids girl was officially charged this morning with kidnapping and larceny.

Jeffrey Malmberg was arraigned this morning by video and is being held on a $1 million bond. The judge called Malmberg an "extreme danger to the public" and cited previous drug and fraud convictions on his record and that he had twice violated Personal Protection Orders. Malmberg was also currently on probation.

...........
Consuela Martinez, Jozlynn's mother, was in Grand Rapids Family Court Thursday afternoon. Martinez was told her 7-month old baby, who was fathered by Malmberg, will remain in the custody of Child Protective Services. The court said since the conditions of Jozlynn's disappearance are unclear, this was a precaution.

Well - I'm glad CPS is being proactive in this case. I know that so far there is no evidence of mom's involvement - but it is still good to protect that baby until LE finds out what happened here. I hope the baby is in a good home for now.

I also hope a break comes and LE finds Jozlynn. It sounds like the judge was pretty harsh with him at arraignment this morning - so maybe the 🤬🤬🤬 will get a clue and understand he is going down, probably for life, if little Jozlynn doesn't turn up soon.

Does MI have a three strikes law?

So my theory is somthing happend at the house. If her winter coat and boots are at the house, and he had to take a cab to Lansing that would tell me that he didn't have a car. I cant see her taking her even to sell her or what ever without puting a coat or shoes on her. Poor little girl. They obviously think he was involved since they charged him with kidnapping, now the question becomes was mom involved.

Still wondering why there has not been an appearance from Bio dad.

Crack is huge in MI, just huge, literally everywhere. There is very little education about it. They just tell you not to do it, but nothing about it, such as how addictive it is, how fast it destroys a person...they tend to preach crack abstinence, not crack education. One of the things they don't tell you is that it alters the thought processes. Not in all users, but some of them will never think the way they did before crack. I fear this guy is one of those. It's going to be hard to think like him, if that is the case.

I think the simplest answer here is that this wasn't his first fall off the sobriety wagon and she either got into his stash and died or she saw him taking money and tried to tell, and he lost his temper and killed her. I think this one is a body search, not a sold child.

ETA: Or this whole thing is a setup, but I don't think so, since I'm sure that bio dad isn't unreachable to LE and since there is no mention of him as a suspect or POI...I have my doubts.

The other possibility is that "something bad" was scheduled to happen to the mom and the baby. He left the doors unlocked, right? Why? To make it look like someone else came in and did something or because there really was someone that was supposed to come in? Men have done crazy things to avoid child support, maybe he wanted her dead, baby would have had to go too, or he would have been paying child support forever (the state almost surely would have gotten custody). But Jozlynn would have been an act of contrition, maybe. Or started off that way. She would have been too young to tell much of anything, and she never would have cost him anything, not being legally his. Maybe she woke up and flipped out and he did something to her then. Just makes me wonder if there is another scuzzball around that just dropped the ball on his end of the deal.

I agree...the house is in a pretty populated area, so he either carried her out alive which would look odd a 2 year old with no coat or hat on (and the weather up here that day was definitly far from warm) or he took her in some sort of a bag or somthing. But if you dont have a car what do you do? Call a cab with her in the bag? Seems like LE would have got that from the cab driver.....

Oh, just called the GR LE and they are not conducting any organized searches at this time.

And then there is the possiblility that she is still in the house. Makes me think Balloon boy..that would be nice!!
