Deceased/Not Found MI - Jozlynn Martinez, 2, Grand Rapids, 24 Feb 2010

  • #221
I would bet that there are thousands of people buried in landfills. I wonder if there is any sort of machine that could be used to sort/check through the garbage for human remains.

Some type of X-ray machine maybe?

With so many cases lately where children's bodies have been taken to dumpsters, I can't help but check the dumpster out when I go throw out my trash. God I hope I never see anything.

Rest in Peace sweet baby Jozlynn. May you never know pain again.

I think they should make it so all trash containers are locked mandatory. That way atleast if they find a body in your trash you cant say it wasnt me that put it there. Same thing for commerical dumpsters. They should be locked so people (public) cannot gain access to them. And for places like gas stations or other places that might need an open trash can, then put a lid on it with only a 10 in hole in it so you can throw small things away. Maybe if it was a little more difficult to throw babies out...some can be found at fire departments instead of landfills.

Stepfather doesn't buy Jeffrey Malmberg story about panicking, throwing Jozlynn Martinez's body in trash

Bob Malmberg last saw his adopted son 22 years ago, but knew him then as someone who had penchants for both lying and anger.

"He had a streak in him that was just plain mean," Malmberg said of 40-year-old Jeffrey Malmberg.

[snip]

Despite his negative feelings toward the younger Malmberg, Bob Malmberg finds it difficult to believe he could dump a young girl's body.

"That was a shocker to me," he said.

He doesn't believe Jeff Malmberg's alleged story about getting frightened after the girl died, however.

"That's hard for me to believe he would panic. He's been out in the world too much, too long for that," he said.

Bob Malmberg thinks his son could be capable of harming others.

"Even in his early life he was making people unhappy and taking advantage of people," he said.

Consuela Martinez earlier this week questioned whether Jeff Malmberg was telling the truth about her daughter's death. Bob Malmberg has the same questions.

"You can't believe him anymore. Maybe the little girl will show up," he said.

Yeah...I hope the 2 year old child just "shows up" too...like she just stepped out for a walk or something. Geez.

wow, Jeff's step-father had some pretty harsh stuff to say. Makes me wonder where Jeff's bio dad is and what his thoughts might be on his son.

Live from the Grand Rapids Police Department
News Conference @3:30 pm EST 3/3/10

Summary:

John King - Supervisor Agent FBI
Captain Jeff - Grand Rapids Police

Malmberg is now charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Larceny, and Tampering with Evidence.

Will be arraigned tomorrow at 1:30.

Not been able to find her body. They are continuing to search and the investigation will continue to move forward.

They believe Monday is the day she was murdered.

The continue to have ongoing conversations with the defendant.

Charges are NOT consistent with an accidental death.

Don't believe mom was involved and they will not be seeking charges against her.

Greatest hope of finding Jozlynn's body was at the Kent Co. Waste Energy plant but they are looking other places as well. Their search is done at the landfill, however.

They are continuing their investigation but are confident that they have sufficient evidence to go to court with.

Malmberg faces charge in Jozlynn murder

Jeffrey Malmberg, 40, the live-in boyfriend of the girl's mother, admitted to police he put his knee on the little girl's chest and held her down until she stopped breathing, a Grand Rapids police detective said in court today.

He said it happened about 6:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at the child's home on 915 Nagold St. NW, Grand Rapids Detective Jana Forner told the judge.

He admitted to police he then placed her in a garbage bag, then dumped her into a Dumpster.

If this happened at 6:30pm, what happened to the mother seeing the little girl at 11pm??

What is wrong with people?! WHY would he do that to a child? I'm ashamed to call myself a human being sometimes, I swear. What kind of a person does this? And then plays this selfish game with the poor child's family. Sickening. I hope someone shows him the same kind of treatment someday.

After reading the article I've linked, I don't think they are going to find this angel's body. I think it's too late. How do people do these things to defenseless babies?? I almost wish she had just fallen down the stairs, the terror that poor girl must have experienced in her final moments at the hands of someone that was supposed to care for her is more than my imagination can handle. And now she may never have a proper burial. She deserved better than this. Every child does. Absolutely unbelievable!

Belk said police spent long hours searching a Kent County waste facility on Market Ave. looking for Jozlynn Martinez's body -- and other sites -- but they have not been successful. He also said other evidence in Jozlynn Martinez's murder was incinerated before they could discover it.

I think this sick monster killed this poor child and then put her into her bed/crib to trick Consuela when she came home. Perhaps he started the argument with her about the tax return money to distract her. Plus, if she was possibly out drinking, he knew she would be tipsy and easily distracted. It seems to have worked. This 🤬🤬🤬 BETTER get LWOP! If not, I, personally, will write the parole board every time he is up for parole. As long as I'm alive, I will do everything I can to make sure this piece of filth never sees freedom again. He treated Jozlynn like trash, but he is the REAL TRASH!!:furious:

You could be right about him tricking Consuela. But I just don't know. She was so weird with her statements. Saying she "Thinks" she checked on Jozlynn, etc. I'm just not sure. Either way, prayers for this angel to be received into God's arms. And may there be justice served for her life taken WAY too soon.

I know this is a stupid question, but I have to ask, what was it that made him put his knee on her chest? Was she throwing a tantrum, and he truely wasn't intending on killing her? Because I would think that anything pre-meditated would be 1st degree. Either way, poor baby. Makes me so sad. I have not been able to check the news till now, I think I would have rathered to contine to think she fell down the stairs.

{BBM}

I can't quit thinking about this, either. How could someone look into that adorable face and watch her struggle and see the fear in her eyes as they "press" the life out of her?? I think he intended on killing her and in this way. A grown "man" pressing his knee into a 2-year-old child's chest until she stops breathing does not say accident to me.

I agree, it would be a much easier pill to swallow if she had just fallen down the stairs. I knew right away, though, that he had either pushed her down the stairs or that it didn't happen that way at all. This was no accident, IMO.

What also bothers me with the Mother.. and I am not trying to bash her or anything... Is that fact that she said that they argued about bruises on the childs body but yet you would leave this same child at home with him?? We have to start looking out for our kids and doing whats best for them... not us..
