Very true, unfortunately. Sexual assault is severely under-reported and even when reported cases too often don't find their way to any sort of satisfying resolution for the reporting/aggrieved party--which this latter fact could be a reason someone sought to harm JL: street justice where the formal justice system potentially appears to the alleged victim/victim's loved ones to have failed the victim.

Criminal sexual conduct in the first degree?! Oh my...yes, definitely possible motive, or self harm but I am thinking more motive. If he was arrested in 2016, would he have served time already or was he out on bond waiting for sentencing ? I Can only find Arrest record, no court or sentencing records.

Arrested doesn't mean convicted.

The only convictions I could find for him was a misdemeanor and a DUI when he was much younger. He's not listed as a sex offender in the state registry either so there may well not have been a conviction. In Michigan those charges are a felony and term of imprisonment can be for up to life.
