The missing child's name is Kendall Moses. Police say he was last seen at 12:30 a.m. by his mother at their home on the 10400 block of Greensboro, which is south of Whittier and west of Interstate 94.

A Detroit Police Department statement on Moses' disappearance says his mother told police that adults were sitting on the family's porch at the time Moses walked away.

Moses is 3 feet 5 inches tall and 35 pounds, with a black hair, a medium-brown complexion, and brown eyes. He wore a black shirt, blue and green basketball shorts, and white and blue shoes.

Police are asking anyone with information on the boy's whereabouts to call the 9th precinct investigative unit at (313) 596-5900.

A 5-year-old Detroit boy reported missing early Wednesday has been found safe, Detroit police said, and it turns out he was with family the entire time. Sort of.

But Kendall knew where he was the entire time; in the vehicle of a female cousin who had left the party. It was knowledge his mother and authorities did not have.
Per Captain Mark Thornton, who gave an update from the home, which was broadcast via Facebook, Moses climbed into the woman's vehicle, without her knowledge, and hit under a seat in the back of the vehicle. He stayed there all night.
As the family's concern grew, and phone calls were exchanged between everyone who'd been at the event, the cousin's phone had died and she fell asleep.
She woke up and charged her phone to learn that Moses had gone missing. She got into her vehicle to return to Greensboro, only to have Moses pop up in the backseat. On the instruction of police, she drove the boy to the Detroit Police Department's 5th precinct.

Little guy just wanted to go to sleep, didn't tell anyone, found a quiet place and scared everyone to death. I'm glad it worked out for the best, because that had to be incredibly scary for his family!
