I've been away from here, but watching this case. It hits close to home. Too close. My kids attend school very nearby. I have property a few minutes from there. Grew up playing in the field across from the plaza. Out front was the last 7-11 store in the state. Kevin was in a program my ex-wife administrated at U of M, saw him and chatted daily. Swartz Creek is near the edge of Genesee County, and the animal was in Shiawassee. MSP would be a logical choice. SC is part of a "Metro" PD, with surrounding small rural jurisdictions.

Lots to catch up on, but my one takeaway from it is, when can we as a Society normalize Human sexual attraction, so good people aren't forced to hide in the dark with high risk scenarios? <modsnip: off topic, unnecessary>

Suspected Grindr killer to plead insanity

"Lawyers of an alleged murderer contend their client is legally insane and therefore cannot be held criminally liable for the recent killing of a Swartz Creek man and the subsequent mutilation of his corpse."

We were all expecting this I know, but I still feel like shouting many expletives:mad:

Well good luck with that Edgar Thomas Hill:rolleyes:,insanity will be a lot harder to prove than non competence for sure.
You are going away for a very long time Mr.Wolf.

I want to scream as well. I just don't want this to drag on for Kevin's loved ones, but not surprised :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I'd like to know why the park was searched? It's a ways away from all other points. Maybe that was the original meeting place? It is pretty isolated, despite houses across the street. We sled on the wee hill there with the younger Scouts. Lots of trees, quiet.

SC is not an especially pleasant place for those outside the fake-AF Christian, middle class, white demographic.

I grew up in Creek as well, graduated in early 80s. I haven’t lived there in years, but still visit family in the area. I know it remains a relatively conservative area. This particular crime is going to shake things up a bit. I will say that I have been pleasantly surprised that locals have seemed very supportive of Kevin, I really expected things to get judgmental and ugly.

Happy to hear locals are supportive. As it should be. Kevin's Family is going to need support in the long road ahead of them.

Was this the location where some blood was discovered early on when the search was ongoing?

Dad commented on receiving a lot of support and condolences from Facebook and strangers. He was asked what he wants others to remember about Kevin and he said that he is a great person. He made reference to him doing things others may not do, that he may have been confused as many other young people about his sexuality ( :-( ), that it caused a lot of stress but he's overall a good person and very loved. Commented on how many showed up today. Reporter asked what his last words were to his son (poor taste IMO) and he tearfully said "goodbye" and referenced holding him for the first time as an infant.

All summarized, no direct quotes.

Very nice interview. He obviously loved his son and vice versa. I admire the father’s courage and strength throughout this ordeal. He was very honest, and he spoke what was on his heart.

Not really close. It’s almost the opposite direction from the spot the car was found. Small town, those spots are probably 2-3 miles apart.
Thank You. I was hoping someone familiar with the area would chime in.
