Detroit police looking for missing 42-year-old woman

DETROIT – Krista Daniel, 42, has been missing since Wednesday.

Krista was last seen in the area of 8 Mile Road and I-75 Service Drive.

She is described as 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with a mole on her left eyebrow, a scar on her right arm and the name Charlie tattooed on her ankle. Krista was last seen wearing a teal colored winter coat and blue jeans, officials said.

Crime Stoppers says Daniel is an intelligent, kind-hearted mother of five young children. A resident of Detroit, she works in the restaurant business, has a love for people and sought to share that by aspiring to work in the nursing field.

“According to family members, Daniel spoke with her mother on the phone around 7:20 p.m. A short time later, her mom would sent a family friend to give Daniel some money, and the two met up at Olar’s Party Store on 8 Mile Rd. near the I-75 Service Drive.”

Was she on her way home from work at the restaurant? Why meet at some party store and not at her home?
Five young children? I hope they are safe at home with their father.

Search parties continue for missing Detroit mother of 5 last seen crossing Eight Mile

June 12 2020
Krista Daniel crossed the west bound lanes of Eight Mile heading towards Hawthorn. She may have been assaulted in that area.

The 42-year old's husband died a month before she went missing. Krista has five children ages 17 to 2 years old. Right now all of them wondering about their mom.

Family and friends are starting at 8 mile and Woodward Saturday around 11 a.m. and searching along I-75.

"I believe she's gone," Daniel said. "I just want to bring back her body so I can bury her."

Teri says police have searched 20 percent of the grid they were looking in. She expects police from several departments, including Detroit, to participate in the search along with firefighters, private investigators and volunteers.

around 7:20 pm:
Krista spoke with her mother on the phone.

soon after 7:20pm:
The mother sent a family friend to give Krista some money.

by 7:30pm:
The family friend met Krista at Olar’s Party Store on 8 Mile Rd. near the I-75 Service Drive with money before she was to head home.

7:30pm:
Krista left the party store, crossing the westbound lanes of 8 Mile Rd on foot heading towards Hawthorn.

Shortly after 7:30/ 7:45pm:
It is believed Krista was assaulted, possibly shot, and placed in the back of a vehicle.


Investigators asking for this:

"Anyone in that neighborhood that may have seen any cars fleeing, any people fleeing, who may have been speaking out of turn in those days to follow," said Heather Fitzpatrick, Detroit police.

I wonder if Krista’s mother was just sending money to help Krista out with whatever (a bill, groceries, etc) and not so much the money being exchange for something?

I also wonder if they met at the party store because it was just a centralized or convenient location or because it was in relation to where Krista needed to use the money?

Did she need to buy something at the party store? If so, it was quick because from the phone call to her being seen on video was only around 10 mins.

That being said, where did she call her mother from? Was it a cellphone? Did she live close by? Did she walk there? Again, that 10 min window isn’t a lot of time.

I apologize if I missed reading where it stated where she lived. Is the direction she was seen walking (crossing westbound lanes towards Hawthorn) towards her residence?

Was this family friend someone Krista knew well or was it more of the mother’s friend?

I assume there’s evidence such as witnesses or a car with her blood in the trunk to support LE’s theory she was assaulted, shot, & put in a trunk.

And wherever this took place had to be fairly close (around the distance she may have walked in a 10-15 min window or so?)

And lastly, did they find any of her personal belongings? I’m sure if she hadn’t spent the money, it wouldn’t be among any belongings if found.

I attempted to search for her husband’s obituary. I thought this may give us some sort of info (names, his age, circumstance around his death, etc) but I was unable to find his name in order to do so.
I used several sites but came up empty handed each time. I thought it was a little odd that I was able to find her residence, names of possibly 5 more adults living at the residence, her mother’s info, but the couple of male names that may possibly be her husband resulted in dead ends.

Someone asked Krista's Mom how she knows she is no longer living. She replied, eyewitnesses.

So just like the MSM news reports state, she was assaulted and placed in the back of a car. Whatever information her Mom has, it's caused her to state Krista is no longer alive. A Mom doesn't say that lightly
