EAST LANSING, Mich. (FOX 2) - The estranged boyfriend of a Michigan woman who disappeared in 2008 has been convicted of her murder.

Brad Cournaya, 56, is expected to be sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole when he is sentenced Aug. 28.

Judge Joyce Draganchuk told Cournaya she contemplated what to say before imposing the mandatory sentence for first-degree, premeditated murder, including playing on his conscience with a hope he might reveal the location of Lueth's remains.

"I realized you have no conscience," she said. "There's nothing I really can say to you."

Brad Cournaya, 56, was convicted of killing Krista Lueth in 2008 during a jury trial in June, even though her body has never been found.
