Judge Gill in March 2013 sentenced Stephen P. Ashley Jr. to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for the 2011 premeditated murder of Houston.
Evidence in the case showed Ashley was concerned about money he owed Houston for cocaine. After killing Houston, Ashley enlisted his two friends to move Houston’s body and the Cadillac to the banks of the Saginaw River in Zilwaukee Township, all three of them testified. Ashley set fire to the Cadillac in an attempt to conceal the crime, Rosin and Vaughn testified.
