Under what conditions did she leave her friend's house at 1:00am? Was she alone on foot, or did someone pick her up? It is terrifying to think of a 13 year old girl being out alone at 1:00. Of course, if someone unknown to her family picked her up, that isn't any less terrifying.

Another question -- where is her home in relation to her friend's house?

I'm also curious about the 1am time frame.

Was it always the plan that at 13, she would be traveling back home alone that late in the evening, or was the original plan that she was supposed to spend the night at the friend's house?
A 13 year old going home alone at 1am? I'm also wondering how close these houses are from one another.
