Good heavens! Mental illness does not cause that level of racism and hate.

A non compliant sexual offender, roaming the streets!!!
Wouldn't the families be devastated, that 'non compliance' was not addressed earlier.
How are the kiddies safe?

I wonder if he was registered as a sex offender? I hope he is put away for good. He isn't someone who should be wandering the streets.

As I walk my dog, around the local streets, I wonder how many 'Sex Offenders, Paedophiles, Persons on Parole', are around and do not walk in less populated areas.
My Capital City was 'most livable city in the world', for many years.
This year, it lost, top spot, due to an increase in Crime.
So persons, living in areas, where there is far more crime, surely are very wary.

Oh my effing god! Just, wth!

@cybervampira, thank you for posting this, though I’m having a hard time wrapping my brain around this. That girl had to be absolutely terrified.

I’m so glad he’s in jail.

Fabricated story. I’m glad that the little girl is okay and the wrongfully accused man has been cleared. LE sure has a tough job.

A 5 year old made up this story? That's as despicable as what the man was accused of.

Yeah, I think we’re done here. I hope the child and the accused come out of this okay. LE did a good job of sorting this out, so I’m sure they will follow up.

Man accused of urinating on girl is sex offender

"UPDATE: The Kent County Prosecutor’s Office says David Allen Dean has been cleared in this case after authorities determined the children made up the story “to avoid trouble.” The prosecutor’s office says one child urinated on another child and they concocted the story. Authorities say witnesses also provided a “verifiable alibi” at the time of the incident."

Sad that kids would fabricate such a story. moo

I'm curious. Did she make it up or was the boy older and he made it up? Either way it is despicable. moo

I do hope this man knows how lucky he is that the truth came out! A lot of suspects especially with his history are NOT so fortunate!

It's a reminder to me to question accusations.

Children made up story about white man urinating on black child: police
Police said several children, all 7 or younger, were playing together sometime before 6 p.m. Wednesday when one of the children urinated on the 5-year-old girl.

Kent County prosecutors said the parents of the children, in talking with them, ultimately determined the children "concocted the story to avoid trouble."

"We appreciate the conscientiousness of the parents .....

Michigan man accused of urinating on girl cleared of all charges; story was fabricated, police say
police spokesperson for the Grand Rapids Police Department confirmed to Fox News Friday night that no charges would be filed against 60-year-old David Allen Dean.
It was later determined that one of the children urinated on the girl — not the man, as the kids previously alleged, according to Fox 17.

It's a reminder to me to question accusations.

Yes, I always do. I hate that I do. However, I've seen too many false accusations.

Now that I've seen firsthand what happens when they are made... I question them all. It's simply so easy to just say "he did this" and the person is arrested, just like in this case.

If the child is a little older, a little better liar and more motivated to continue the lie? You've got a guy who spends years in jail awaiting trial - best case. Or a guy who spends the rest of his life in prison - worst case.

It's awful and it's truly helpless to be on the defense side when your client is truly innocent and nobody cares... because "they all say they are innocent."

Always question. Always verify the evidence matches the story. Make sure the accused doesn't have an airtight alibi for example. *sigh*
