MOO: I am proud to live in one of the only countries in the world that would have courts prosecute this case all the way, even as the family is not skills-equipped to push for that. The prosecutors here are going on passion and on belief for what is right - they are not getting paid for it and there’s not a family pressing them for it. They are doing this for the ethics and morals and for the defense of the vulnerable, on the right thing basis.

OP says last seen near Outer Drive.....(awfully strange coincidence)

Workers were at the home in the 19700 block of Woodingham near Outer Drive renovating the house when they found the remains buried in a shallow grave around 1 p.m.

It is unclear if the remains belonged to an adult or child. According to police, the remains appear to be from a person who had a small stature, so they are looking at both missing adults and children.

(Any Sleuths happen to know if Butts had any connection to Woodingham home?)

Jarvis Butts, 42, is charged with first-degree premeditated murder, second-degree criminal sexual conduct and child sexually abusive activity.

Jury selection will begin on Oct. 6, 2025. Prosecutors said Friday they could call 40 or more witnesses to the stand while the defense plans to call 10 or more. The trial is expected to last three to four weeks.

He has a final calendar conference date on June 20.

His trial for Na'Ziyah's murder was supposed to begin on August 1st. but that has now been slightly delayed.

Per the above article, He was arraigned on June 30th for the unrelated 2013 SA charges.

He appeared in court on August 4th relating to Harris' murder where his defense attempted to get the info about his recent charges in the 2013 SA case quashed in the murder case. The court denied those motions to quash.

Due to issues with cell phone evidence the judge set a new pretrial conference to take place September 16th. His trial for the murder of Na'Ziyah is now set to take place in October of this year.

Hey everyone, my colleuges and I (from a random prison in america), were talking about the tragic case of Na'Ziyah Harris. Allegedly Jarvis Butts, who is the father of her cousins, has been grooming her, and others since she was a child, and she has been missing for over a year. Detroit PD feel that they have enough evidence to charge him without a body. Jarvis Butts REFUSES to tell anyone where the body is, which is destroying the victims family. Some other relevant details: Apparently, Jarvis, had been abusing Na'ziyah, while living in the family home. There are texts, voice notes, and other really disturbing things that they talked about. In court, they read several text excerpts between the youth and Mr. Butts, and they were shocking. This is another tragic story that is not only a failure on the part of the parents for lack of supervision, but CPS, ISP, Probation, should have had involvement knowing with this prolific offender. ( Sidenote:Jarvis has been convicted of serial child rape 4x) Do you guys have any thoughts about this? I am interested in the breakdown in communication between Parole, the courts and CPS. I also think that this is a tragic story about how lack of supervision can kill young kids.

I really hope Jarvis Butts is found guilty for 13 yr old Na'Ziyah Harris disappearance. He got that little girl pregnant and then she went missing. Body hasn't been found, yet shes been missing for almost 2 yrs now. I believe some family members of Na'Ziyah's know where she is. Jarvis is married to Na'Ziyah's aunt. He is also believed to have been sexual with other minors as well. I pray for Na'Ziyah and those children Michigan, lock him up forever

Jarvis Butts entered a guilty plea during a pretrial conference on Thursday in the Third Circuit Court, court records show. In all, Butts entered pleas to settle six separate cases.

The agreement presented to the court includes 35 to 60 years for second-degree murder, 10 to 15 years on four counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and 10 to 15 years for third-degree criminal sexual conduct. The terms will all be served concurrently.

As part of the plea agreement, additional charges of criminal sexual conduct will be dismissed.

He also has agreed to "provide truthful statement regarding the body of Na'Ziyah Harris," court records show.
