Burks had several lovers, prosecutors said, including Hoover, many of whom Burks met online where people look for sexual encounters. And because Burks didn't have a job — aside from selling pills and charging people for sex — or even a credit card, they'd give him money and they bought him food, clothes, phones and paid his bills. They'd give him rides, and provide him rental cars and hotel rooms. One of the lovers did his taxes. That same lover helped Burks hide a 9mm gun and surgical glasses with Hoover's name inscribed on them.

A Wayne County judge denied a request on Thursday to have murder and larcency charges dismissed against a man accused of murdering a Detroit neuorsurgeon in 2023 after his attorney argued there isn't enough evidence to show her client killed the doctor.

some lawvers these days try take advantage of the situation and get things thrown out before anyone has had a chance to go throuh the evidance properly, in saying this you do get the odd person or judge that actually does there job correctly and in this case there must be enough evidance for them to get the coviection

This is just so tragic and awful, all the way around. And that so many individuals didn't come forward when they likely knew that something like this had happened and yet they covered for the killer. And yet they got immunity for their testimony. If the prosecution needed to do that to convict this guy and get him off the streets, then so be it, I guess.
