Strange, he was arrested as a felon in possession of a firearm, yet I'm not finding him listed in the MI Dept of Corrections.

According to an email from Assistant Prosecutor Maria Miller, Detroit Police sent a warrant package seeking charges in the killing of Patrice Wilson, who was reportedly kidnapped outside Detroit Receiving Hospital Saturday morning after her shift. The body of Wilson, who had a 7-year-old son, was found Sunday in Novi, police said.

Miller said DPD's warrant request was "currently being reviewed," adding that "a charging decision is not expected this week."

White said investigators are working with another police department to determine if Miller had a role in Green's disappearance.

"I was made aware of (Green's disappearance) as part of this (murder) investigation," White said during a Monday press conference at Public Safety Headquarters. "Everything's going to be looked at, including anything from that case as well."

The man accused of abducting and murdering Detroit nurse Patrice Wilson will be formally charged on Thursday, more than two weeks after she was killed.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy spoke during a press conference on Thursday from the Frank Murphy Hall of Justice where she announced charges in the murder of Wilson, 29, after she left work on Saturday, May 13. She was later found dead in her car.

Jamere Miller, 36, was identified as the suspect the day her body was found. He turned himself in on charges the Monday after her murder.

That morning, just before 8 a.m., Miller disguised himself with a wig, hat, and glasses and waited for Wilson to get out of work at Detroit Receiving Hospital and into her car, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office alleges.

Miller got into the rear passenger side of Wilson car, shot her multiple times, then got into the driver’s seat and fled, prosecutors say.

Miller turned himself over to authorities May 14. He was arraigned Thursday afternoon in 36th District Court on charges of first-degree murder, felony murder, carjacking, armed robbery, felony possession of a firearm and five counts of felony firearm. Miller pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bond.

“Simply said, the most dangerous time in any kind of domestic violence case is when, what usually is, the woman is trying to leave the relationship. It’s absolutely the most dangerous, heinous time,” Worthy said. “Patrice Wilson by all accounts was a hardworking woman, a great mother, a great family person and well-respected in her job as a nurse at the Detroit Medical Center.”

“She was simply trying to live her life, work hard, and break off a relationship she knew was not good for her,” the top prosecutor said.

Pamela Golden, Patrice Wilson's grandmother, said to us, "He took my granddaughter. He took her. For what? Because he couldn’t have her? It’s really hard for us to take it in. How could a person put this on us? How?"

A probable cause conference is scheduled for June 15, and a preliminary examination is slated for June 22.

According to the law firm, Wilson's family believe the hospital's failure to immediately respond was racially motivated and a "sense of urgency would have been shown if the victim was Caucasian."

The release also said that security was informed of the attack before the shooting, but failed to act. Additionally, it also alleges that security was not at their station when an eyewitness of the incident saw the abduction and went to report it to staff.

"Other co-workers were getting off work, and I told them to be careful. They searched and found security," said Leisha Williams, a nurse who witnessed the shooting in a release. "By the time security came, he had pulled off. They did not place the hospital on lockdown."

The suit also names a lack of security and broken cameras as reasons alleging negligence.

"The system failed her. If they (security) would have been on duty, they would have come out to question why he was standing around. They heard the shot, why didn’t nobody come out," Pamela Golden, grandmother asked. "Policies must change. It’s not going to bring Patrice back, but maybe it can help someone else."

The family is suing the Detroit Medical Center for $200 million, claiming it was negligent and had inadequate security at the hospital. Lawyers for the family claim the DMC didn’t follow protocols, and didn’t call police until two hours after Wilson disappeared.

In a statement, a DMC spokesperson said the organization stands behind its security team and their handling of the situation.

"We feel had she been one of those white nurses down there, they would've announced it immediately, and maybe the young lady would still be alive. From my understanding, they waited three to four hours," said Michael H. Fortner, the family's attorney.

The family and their attorney accuse the facility of failing to follow active shooter protocol, neglecting to issue a lockdown for the campus, and delaying contacting the police for over two hours.

Wow, he looks ridiculous… can’t believe he thought he would get away with this. Premeditated for sure. And for what? Because she didn’t want to be with him anymore? Why can people not handle that?
