If this is an exact description of how the call went down it sounds very random. The other, more common description leans more info wishful thinking. There's a big difference between them.

Yes,

Could be more of what his brother Mike wanted to hear than what might have been said. Was this call made to the family home? or was Mike living somewhere else at the time? That could make a difference.

1974, Perry vanished..why 18 years later (1992) did this cartoon call happen? Pranking all those years later doesn't make sense and if it was Perry, why did he wait so long? Maybe this was an attempt to get Perry's disappearance back out there in the public...to say you had a call that sounded like Perry to regenerate LE interest (?)

From the description that Satch posted it sounds like it was just a random prank call and the brother attributed it to Perry.

there are so many possibilities... he could have run away and restarted his life... he could have been killed... even accidentally...
i wonder if he suffered a concussion in the accident or wasn't thinking straight and just walked away and died in some random way...the cartoon voice imitation part got me...were the cartoons doing the imitations normally? if not worth it strange coincidence...if they were i still don't know if it was perry but if it wasn't..why would anyone say the imitations were cartoons? just weird...and i think that's the creepiest thing about this case...along with the louisiana police losing the dental records...
whatever
rest in peace

I thought the cartoon voices might be Perry's way of letting his brother know it was him and he was ok...or, maybe the brother felt Perry's case was growing cold, so he made up the story to generate some attention back into the case. If Perry was alive, I would think since 1974 he would have contacted his family.

March 15, 1974..what happened to Perry!?

Perry's car was found 15 miles from Grayling about 90 min later.
The cars engine was running, lights on and drivers side door was open..IMO, that sounds like he was in a state of panic and fled..
But to not contact his family is odd...after all these years.
His car was found on the side of interstate 75..why would he pull over there? Anyone familiar with that area around the interstate?
It was cold and snowing..how could Perry survive in the elements...unless he hitched a ride...

Is it possible that he was forced over and abducted from his car?

Even if he was in a state of panic, the natural thing before leaving your car would be to shut off the engine, pocket the key, and shut the door.

A possible abduction is definitely plausible. I wish we knew more about the night he went missing. Perry's fender bender was in front of a theater. What was he doing that night and who with? Was he having problems with anyone? How did the accident occur?

Perry has 22 exclusions on Namus

Was the woods where Perry's car was found ever searched with tracking dogs?
To leave the car running and drivers side door open..Perry must have been in a panic state. I think he would have contacted family over the years if he ran off. It was cold, dark, and messy weather.. I think Perry died from the outdoor elements.

A couple of comments and observations.
1. I agree with Satch about the breaking and entering in that Perry was more concerned about it. Did he have partners or did he break and enter on his own?
2. A couple of reasons why he abandoned his car: 1. He had to go to the bathroom. 2. He had a concussion and could not focus on driving anymore. 3. If he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol this would influence his panic attacks. Also, he was getting sick to his stomach along with a possible concussion. 4. No proof since he was not found he could have ran into the woods and died of the elements.
3. We do not know when he left his car. He could have left it earlier and died. Valiant mentioned this in a previous thread that is could have stayed idle for a while. This is not his exact words.
4. #83 and #92 about someone else driving his car. If true, were fingerprints taken from inside. Would a running engine and opened door indicate to the police foul play. Also mentioned was a possible hit and run, any evidence of another car in the area. (Blood, tire marks from stopping suddenly, evidence disturbing the area nearby, skid mark etc.)
5.Phone call and not notifying family. I've learned that if someone is going to live a new life they would have to let go of the past and not notify family. For example, the girl in Arizona who disappeared in the 1990's and was just found alive. Why as an adult did, she not notified police or family? The phone call could be real, only Michael can determine if it was his brother's voice or a prank. What date was the phone call? Any significance to Michael of the date. I know the year was 1992. He has two other siblings what about them. Is the father still alive? 18 years, maybe his conscience was bothering him.
5. If he did leave on his own, if he had a partner with his breaking and entering, he could have gone to the house and asked for help, mentioning that they were in this together. Then I could believe that they deliberately set up that scene and the phone call years later. I believe that he died that night with the reasons listed above with a concussion and disoriented with alcohol or drugs.
