Milwaukee police Tuesday held five suspects in the killing of a young mother, two of her children and another woman whose body was found the same day.

Investigators have not said what connects the killings, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported. Brittney Robertson, 19, had been living with Rachel Thompson, 23, and her sons.

Updating this case: One of the two killers was sentenced to four life terms without parole.

Also, Brittney Robertson, who stabbed Rachel Thompson and her 3-yr old son, was herself gunned down later the same day by her accomplices, who feared she would be arrested and cooperate with police.

This was a robbery that turned into a quadruple murder.

A man who participated in last year's murders of two little boys, their mother and another woman but then helped prosecutors convict another man for the crimes was sentenced Thursday to 40 years in prison.
