Thank you for your reply,
In regards to Rebecca fearing DCS (I believe it's called CPS in Michigan), I don't get the impression that Rebecca had anything to fear from CPS. Her previous kids were not taken from her by CPS. They were looked after by Stephanie (grandma you could say), and Rebecca was still actively involved in their lives. It was the best outcome for all involved.

Courtney on the other hand, well it's very likely that she had ill feelings towards CPS and/or Stephanie Parks. It may be that killing Rebecca and taking the baby was to do with feeling entitled to a child, having lost her first three.

As far as I can see, Rebecca wasn't running or trying to escape CPS as was rumoured early on. She happily went into hospital to give birth after experiencing what was probably Braxton hicks, and then sent away again. The only reason that Rebecca met up with Courtney that evening was the under the false pretence of an inheritance cheque and a catch-up for ice cream. Instead she was kidnapped, tortured and killed 😢.
I am pretty curious about the whole situation with the Parks raising all of these grandchildren. I am glad they are able and willing to do so. But why did their daughters keep having babies they are unable to raise? Three babies from that scenario (four if you include the baby who died in this tragedy) is a lot in just a few years!

Do we actually know it was all completely amicable? Did RP try to take care of her other babies at first? Do we know for certain that CPS was never involved? I am not asking because I think RP deserved anything that happened to her. But I do think it's an important question: was she hoping to keep custody of this baby and so did that impact any of her decisions that led to her interactions with Cortney?

I wanted to ask this same question, but wasn't sure if it would be considered insensitive ... what I really wondered is if SP ever sat both the girls down and had a very frank conversation about using birth control.

They could have talked birth control till they were blue in the face and the girls could have still acted recklessly. IMO

Obviously, but within that conversation I wonder if SP mentioned she couldn't continue adopting their children?

Then if lifestyles werent changed the State would get to chose their offsprings parents.

Is Falor CP's ex? I'm very confused. That would mean that he was CP's ex, became Rebecca's fiance, then cheated on her with CP. Thank you.

I’m not asking about outcomes in my posts, I’m pondering why someone would continue having children they aren’t going to raise. Maybe Rebecca thought she was in a place to actually do that with this baby boy. Sadly we’ll never know.

BBM
I don't believe that's the case, despite some of the tall stories told to investigators.

While it is true that Richard Falor had briefly dated Courtney, it happened many years before this event. The stories of him having recent affairs with either Courtney or with Kimberley appear to have been made up in an effort to frame him for murder.

If you read through both of the lengthy affidavits you can see that their statements chop and change and are rather contradictory. It must have been a complete headache for detectives to figure out what was actually going on, particularly if they hadn't caught up with the plethora of livestreams and watched the story unfold.

IMO? Because they (A) aren't planned, and (B) they aren't taking preventative measures. ie - birth control.

IMO I think you're right, and perhaps the question should be why she didn't learn from the first one or two pregnancies.

lm not sure what’s gained by discussing whether rebecca should’ve used birth control or whether SP talked to her about it. Kinda feels like disparaging the victim & their loved ones to me. 🙁 It’s not our business and doesnt have bearing on what happened to her other than the fact that she was murdered for the baby i guess. but what use is there in arguing that the baby shouldn’t have existed in the first place? Seems unkind to imply that esp given he was a victim too. JMO

I don't recall anyone saying Becca should have used birth control but I might have missed a post or 2.

Someone had pondered why someone would continue having children, and the reply to that was because they likely aren't planned and/or likely not taking preventative measures.

I don’t think it’s unkind to wonder why a person keeps bringing children into the world that she can’t raise.

Saying the murder victim didn't use birth control because she wasn't very smart wasn't exactly victim-friendly.

I have felt that the fear of DCS taking the child was a fierce component connected to all of their actions....
And I feel that the two daughters felt there was no one better than Cortney to come up with a way to screw the system, and not lose the baby this time.
If Rebecca believed her child would be removed, I doubt she’d have gone to the hospital when she had labour pains. She was 1cm dilated as far as I remember. Thats likely why Cortney escalated HER plan.

Allegedly Falor was originally CP’s boyfriend. Supposedly BB got released from Jail in 2021, so she dumped him. They broke up and Falor began dating RP. CP then accused Falor of SA’ing her and causing a miscarriage.

Falor was actively having an affair with KP at the time RP disappeared.

It has been stated that Falor is the father of the missing baby but I think it’s important to remember that there were accusations that the baby belonged to BB.

It was quoted in the probable cause affidavit that RP had the fear of her child being removed upon birth. It may have been CP who was quoted as saying this so take it with a grain of salt.

just clarifying, in most states, child welfare services operate under a Department of Child Services (DCS) or Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Child Protective Services (CPS) functions as the investigative arm within that state agency. When CPS reports of abuse or neglect are substantiated, DCS/DCFS becomes responsible for ongoing case management, services, and court involvement as applicable.

RP had gone to the hospital, expecting to deliver IMO. Makes sense to me that her adoptive mother was prepared to raise this baby too.

Cortney's brain doesn't fire on any cylinders IMO. I think she fully expected to raise RP's baby as her own, with DNA to prove it (except it wouldn't be her DNA, it would be RP's unique DNA but there's a biology lesson I bet Cortney never had). As for RP, I don't think Cortney is what you'd call a longterm planner, she had no love lost for RP who was her own flesh and blood; even if she HAD considered it (which I doubt she did), she could never dream that someone else might genuinely love RP, notice her missing, and turn earth upside down to find her. Cortney didn't think that far.

IMO she probably thought she found a genius way to beat the CPS system. Use her daughter as a cheap man's surrogate, steal her baby, show everyone what an amazing mother she is -- not to her actual children -- but to her new stolen baby.

Great job, Cortney. You killed that baby on your first try.

It's like a bad soap opera. Soap opera on meth.

Yep. I’ll use my official “sum it up” statement I like to use when looking at messed up cases like this……
