What to make of that? Left with $2000 cash (from an inheritance, sounds like)... I hope somehow she hasn't met with foul play....
LE is addressing BP and asking her to contact them.

Hmm

Investigators said they believe Parks was given $2,000 cash related to the passing of a family member on the night she left. “Cash in this amount would give her the ability to avoid being tracked by financial transactions devices,” the sheriff’s office said.

If investigators believe that then they do because someone told them that. If it is the same someone who told them she got into a strange car I doubt it's veracity JMO. and IF RP had $2,000 in cash on her that night I have my own thoughts about why someone she has a rocky relationship with and had been estranged from in recent years might want to "hang out" and run "errands" with her at that time of night. Just MOO but this whole set of alleged circumstances seems super sus to me.

and IF she did NOT have cash on her, $2,000 or otherwise? Again, I wonder why LE believe this to be true, because it leads LE to believe it is possible RP is willingly missing when a very real alternate possibility is that something very bad has happened to her and her baby. I really want to know why the believe what they believe, because RP, IMO, appears to be surrounded by a whole cast of very unusual characters.

If LEO are addressing Rebecca directly that indicates they either have some evidence that suggests she is alive and left willingly or they don't have direct evidence suggesting she met with foul play.

Is there a chance Rebecca's baby was not fathered by the much older RSO and she has gone off with someone she believes is the real father? Or she doesn't know for sure but has still fled with a different possible father? MOO.

People have committed crimes for a lot less than 2k. JMO

I’m curious about the inheritance and why it was in cash. IOW if she was paid by check then there would be bank transactions indicating a deposit and then a cash withdrawal. That would imply that Becca had some sort of plan. It’s unusual to be handed cash from inheritance without a paper trail.

And while Becca certainly has the right to leave without warning I do wonder if any laws would protect her unborn baby from being exposed to risk or harm?

agreed< I want to know a lot more about this alleged inheritance. As you say, a draft from an estate account or cashier's check drawn of a decedent account at closing is more in line with what I would expect in an inheritance situation.

I think that any financial money received as an inheritance would be given in a check and not cash.

What happened doesn't sound good at all! Why would she need a ride so late at night? So sad to think of what might happen to her! All we can do is pray for her and her baby.

As far as the cash inheritance goes, if it exists, I imagine it could be that her birth mother may have wanted to give her a portion of what she personally received, in which case it might be cash. This could avoid any evidence of it occuring, or perhaps to keep it out of a joint account Rebecca may have with her partner, or to give her cash to escape a situation and leave no immediate trail. (No known phone, no electronic financial transactions to trace etc)

Curious about this bit of info from the UpNorth article

Slight paraphrase on my part for clarity

friend, A.B recounted the last time she saw Park, "Sunday night, as we were dropping off the truck - she helped me move all weekend - she was screaming, I'm in labor (ended up sending her into labor, going to Cadillac Hospital). Her last phone call was her mom who said, 'Don’t let her get into a vehicle, I’m on my way.' And from then on, she got into a van with K and mom and left — I haven’t heard from her since."

Interesting. Some new details here. Rocky relationship with bio mom, Rebecca has run off before but sister always knew where she was. I find the story of the car with tinted windows coming to pick her up out of the blue suspicious. Mom didn't get a look at the driver? Or additional details about the car?
I question the finding of her phone on the 2 track road.

Where exactly was the location of bio-mom and RP when she was picked up in relation to where the said phone was supposedly found?

Bio- mom may have inherited the money and gave RP 2,000 cash from her inheritance.
If she did that I would want to know if she also gave her other daughter and son the same amount?

I don't know if RP was on any kind of assistance but if she was any inherited/gifted money over a certain amount is something that you may be required to report therefore use cash.

Did RP make a choice knowing she was getting the 2,000 (if true)?
Get the money and stay with her sketchy guy RF and face the consequences of having another baby when CPS may be involved?
Or take the money and run and figure it out as she went along?
Has it been confirmed that RP had more than one phone?
LE said they have her phone but it could be a moot point if she has more than one phone and didn't use the phone LE has to make arrangements with whoever supposedly picked her up,

imo

Why would bio-mom say that?

It sounds like bio-mom and/or Amber knew RP had or was making plans to leave with someone else.

You just don't say 'Don’t let her get into a vehicle" off the top of your head,'
imo

wait, what? So mom earlier said to RB's friend, don't let her get into a vehicle as if she is worried that might happen and then later RB said I've got someone coming to pick me up and mom doesn't bother to stop her, doesn't bother to get a vehicle make or tag description. uh huh, this case is wackadoo.

Was the first pick up from the hospital? And Mom was worried she'd leave with someone else, wanted to make sure that didn't happen?

Then later, after getting her back home, Rebecca did leave again, possibly with the same person Mom was trying to circumvent earlier?

It's confusing, to be sure.
