Forgive me.... Perhaps the condition of the placenta and umbilical cord indicates a catastrophic event at birth for the baby.

Humanity has sunk to a new low. I wasn't sure it could, but this, this is ... there aren't words low enough.

Every day I think it can’t possibly get worse in this country…in this world. Has anyone heard what on earth the possible motive is? She obviously did not want the baby and tried to point the finger at her other daughter. Was it revenge for her daughter being in a relationship with her ‘ex’ or whatever he was? It is obvious that her mouth drew LE straight to the conclusion that she was guilty as hades. Why wait until RP was about to give birth? Had she been trying all along this pregnancy to cause her daughter to have a miscarriage? We may never know.

All statements MOO and speculation .

If she didn't want the baby, killing the Rebecca would have achieved that. No, this was IMO a careful plan to steal Rebecca's baby. I think they thought this would work.

No punishment will match what they did.

reportedly she had Brad living in a tent on the property because "complicated"
Did Cortney give specifics of her “separation” from Brad? Did she suspect Brad fathered Cortney’s baby?

How do you know the baby is deceased? Last I heard the baby had not been found. If they didn’t kill the baby in the process and there weren’t other complications, the baby could have been alive when they cut it out.
I didn't say that in my post.

And although I didn't say that it was implied that RP's baby is deceased by the prosecutor today.

Officials say on Nov. 3, the two lured Park, who was Cortney Bartholomew’s biological daughter and was 38 weeks pregnant, to their Wexford County home. That is when officials say the couple tortured Park in an attempt to remove the unborn infant, resulting in the death of both.

Park’s remains were then found in the Manistee National Forest on Nov. 25.

So she was found in a national forest.
Hopefully that means federal charges are coming and the DP is on the table.
IMO.

Ah I was confused when you’d said the baby was never born. Thanks for the info I have not seen that yet.

I suspect the Feds will decline to get involved. Proving where she died and jurisdiction could be a rough road, and ultimately, it would only be a difference in sentencing between LWoP and potential DP with no guarantee the DP would be given. I suspect they’ll let Michigan keep the case, especially given the costs of a case like this and the current budget issues. But just a guess on my part.

Only that cheap if you're relying on burning scented candles and eating phallic vegetables rather than actual medicine, IMO. Fantasyland.
Yeah, real fertility treatments cost hundreds to thousands of dollars per round, depending on what treatment you are doing. It's not like, a single a $35 pill you take once a month. It's pretty involved. Most people can't afford it without good insurance.

Please don't misquote me as i did not say that either.

I was replying to another poster and here is my direct quote.

The post you quoted states the baby wasn't born but was cut from RP's womb.

I wonder if they sold the baby for drugs. That’s why they say baby is dead, without a body. They don’t want the cops looking too much for it. Why aren’t they producing a body I wonder?

This case reminds me of Rachel Timmerman (whose body was also found in Manistee National Forest) and her baby daughter Shannon VerHage (who was never found). Her murderer received a death sentence because she was found on federal land, but it was later commuted. I am very curious to see which direction this goes given there is a prior case for DP. Both cases are absolutely horrendous.

Looks like that went back and forth awhile too- sentenced, then overturned, then reinstated, then finally, commutated. I’d bet both officials in michigan & the feds would be reluctant to go down that same road again. It could be painful for the victim’s loved ones, too, all the back and forth of a sentence like that. But, hey, we will see. It sounds like there’s a lot of citizen support for it in this case. JMO

All I said was I’d been confused, and explained why. I get what you were saying now. English is not my first language.

I love that look on her face when the judge wouldn't let her talk. Poor thing...things are not going her way.
Could anyone hear what she was trying to say?

Forgive me for asking what might be dumb questions - I am just learning about the case now.

Is it is possible this was planned - that the fiance got her pregnant in order to later steal the baby? Wasn't he involved with bio-mom previously?

Again, sorry of that is off-the-wall. Trying to catch up.

Absolutely nothing would surprise me at this point, with one exception, and that's if Baby Boy Doe is found, alive and safe.
