Forgive me for asking what might be dumb questions - I am just learning about the case now.

Is it is possible this was planned - that the fiance got her pregnant in order to later steal the baby? Wasn't he involved with bio-mom previously?

IMO there is zero evidence that Richard (Rebecca's fiancé) was involved nor even had any knowledge of this horrendous plot.

Sounds like LE has evidence she planned it and she was the active participant.

Yes. I believe they just wounded her at first because they planned to give her a c-section, by cutting out the baby, and keeping him alive. But of course they are moronic imbeciles and both victims died a gruesome horrific death.

I think so. The post where she claimed R messed with her back in February, the post about taking a drug that is used in IVF, the post asking if anyone can give her scrubs, and the NICU baby post… it adds up.

She is so sick and twisted and living in a hellish delusional state to even think up such a vile plan. Desperately wanting a baby when she was about to be given the ultimate blessing of having a new grand baby. I love mine so dearly. She is too greedy and narcissistic to recognise that blessing and instead decided to commit one of the most sadistic, violent horrific crimes imaginable.

silly question, but if she was going around two months before the incident, saying she had a baby , wouldn't raise flags to Becca and the rest of the close family? As to whose baby she will show around to the world?

obviously, i think we’ll get a clearer picture of motive here, but i’m not sure the “why” will ever be crystal (no pun intended).

trying to make sense of someone who would murder someone + DIY cut a baby from the womb, let alone doing that to their own daughter, probably has diminishing return. no sense can be made

It would to most people, but imo, these weren't most people! I think they lack critical thinking skills, to put it mildly, and their long term thinking and ability to see that their actions have consequences need a lot of work.

All that is probably enough to explain why they would do such foolish, self-sabotaging, reckless things that were guaranteed to make them the prime suspects.

But there was one other thing I remember reading that made a little bit of sense... IIRC, when Cortney sent those texts to a friend about her and Brad having a premature baby in the "ICU" (as she called it) she sent them to someone she knew who was not a local, someone who lives out of state. Someone who probably had no contact with all these other local people she knew and who wouldn't be expected to stay updated about local goings-on. So there wasn't much risk in telling this person actually.

Whether or not she even took this into account, who knows, but it did make more sense to me when I thought about that.

Perhaps if/when the baby is found, ME can determine if he was born alive. But I don't think they have the evidence of that at this point, only that the baby didn't survive.

I don’t believe she was in labor. If she was, they wouldn’t have sent her home from the hospital

Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't hear murder charges for the baby, only that they caused miscarriage/stillbirth.

I don't want to listen again, tbh, but will rely on others who know for sure.

They said it was too early in her labor she was 1cm dialated so sent her home til she was further along I believe Luke when a lot of women go into labor they leave hospital sometimes to return further dialated hours later there was no need for them to try cut out the baby since she was so close to delivering…I think that had to be horrific for mom before she died

13? Yikes. She is 40 and Becca was 22. We know about the younger teenage son. KP is also her biological daughter (right?) but she is younger than Becca too I think. Where's that child she had when she was 13?

Asking because she seems to have produced kind of a lot of babies she didn't seem to raise for someone who apparently wanted another one now. Honestly so did the poor victim; she already had at least 2 which seems like a similar path.

Also if CB really had a baby at age 13, it doesn't explain why she's (allegedly!) a sick and disturbing torturer and murderer but it probably does explain some of her other psychological struggle. She's probably stuck at 13 emotionally and has been mired in the trauma of that event ever since. Again, not an excuse for being a vile and twisted criminal!
