Michigan State Police are looking for a missing and endangered man, 70-year-old Richard Lee Wymer, of Wheatland Township in Remus, MI.

He’s described as a white man, 6-foot-2, about 240 pounds, with gray or silver shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a flannel coat, light-brown stocking cap, blue jeans and green boots. He has a tattoo on his upper left arm of a lion lifting weights.

Wymer was last seen shoveling his driveway around 10 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 7, 2021, when he left in his 2000 Suburban, heading north from his home on M-29, according to police. His vehicle is gray with some rust visible, a large Harley Davidson decal on rear window, and a Trump MAGA hat on the dashboard.

He left his wallet, credit cards, cash, cell phone, and his favorite knife at home. His vehicle had approximately a third of a tank of gas with minimal spare change in it, according to the alert.

Michigan State Police searching for missing Remus man

At about 10 a.m., Wymer left his residence in a 2000 gray Chevy Suburban traveling northbound on M-20.

Wymer left his wallet, credit cards, cash, cell phone and his favorite knife at home. His vehicle had about 1/3 of a tank of gas with minimal spare change in it. It is unknown if there was more money inside the vehicle.

Investigators said he left his wallet and cellphone at home - something his son Bryan said is unusual for his father to do.

Well that’s definitely suspicious. I wonder if he had dealings with other individuals and meeting up with someone wouldn’t be unusual? Maybe he had cash on his person? Even if that were to be the case, definitely still strange.

According to Michigan State Police, troopers were called to South Jeffs Road near Cadillac Road in Missaukee County for a report of a deceased male in a gray suburban around 5 p.m. Wednesday.

The deceased man in the driver's seat of the vehicle has been identified as Wymer.

That’s a sad outcome, my thoughts are with his family and loved ones. I wonder if he had a medical issue or some emergency that caused him to take off and leave his valuables behind. Maybe he was going to a hospital?
