Huh?

I suppose they've ruled out staff, residents, and relatives of residents???

I don't even know what to make of this one. Most likely they know who he is but can't confirm.

He's recognizable but no sketch?

There is definitely a huge fact missing here. Otherwise you would have this problem of identifying tons of people in care homes everywhere. Wonder what the issue was.

I think he'd be under Unclaimed Persons if they knew... Really strange. I wonder what the home was previously, maybe he used to live there?
(eta: checked, the house was built the same year he was found so no).

I also wonder if this is the same facility where an unidentified living woman has been staying for ten years. -- Beyond Boundaries Adult Foster Care Facility in Romulus, Michigan --
DNA Doe Project is working on her case so local authorities are aware of DNA possibilities.
I doubt anyone would know who this man is with so few details.
(eta 2: maybe there are so few details because they ARE working on his DNA...?)

I've seen hundreds of cases where people who have already been publicly ID'd are listed on NamUs. These things can be overlooked, and they can only be on unclaimed if their name was confirmed w/dna and dentals. If they know who it is but can't find any DNA or dental to prove it, they'll stay on UID, which is probably what's happened here.

Hmm. Seems suspect IMO. But he was at a good weight so he may have been cared for alright. If he was a resident why did they not check his vitals? Maybe he had a medical condition since adult foster homes are usually for the disabled. Maybe they can at least give a name.

I totally misunderstood your post, I read it as they know his name but haven't found his family.
Either way, it's all vague and I hope they do have something to work on they're not telling us.

I'm wondering if he was initally a living John Doe, so they didnt know his name when he was alive either. Similar to China Black

Maybe! Or there’s another one, I think he calls himself Cordarius. The teenager with special needs who can’t speak that was found in Midlands.

And not able to estimate his age?? WHAT ON EARTH?! At least, even though it may be disturbing, show us a postmortem picture. AT LEAST a postmortem picture.

Very good thinking! But they said he was "discovered unresponsive...", not "found unresponsive..." so...
I just took it as he was some unknown person who didn't belong there.

Hmmm. Maybe it’s just a different wording choice. I do think that the deceased was probably a resident or possibly a friend or relative of a resident coming to visit. I don’t think some random man would just show up and loiter in an adult foster home.

I just find it odd that they claim the deceased’s age can’t be estimated. Look guys. He is in a recognizable condition, you said it yourself. He was found unresponsive, you say. So he must have been dead for maybe 24 hours at the most! Like he still had some life in him. Just look at him! Give us an estimate just based on how he looks! And at least give us a PM photo or a sketch/composite of the deceased.

As soon as I saw that he was found in an adult foster home in Romulus my mind went to China Black too.

I assume he was a resident at this foster home for quite some time before his death, but he wasn't able to communicate his name due to something like a brain injury or some sort of mental disability/illness. Or he was able to say his name (maybe just a first name/nickname) but it couldn't be confirmed. Either way I wish we had more information on him, there has to be hundreds of missing white males in that height/weight range so there's really no way to match him to potential MPs.
Here's a few other cases I could think of where this happened:

That’s what I was thinking too.

China Black! I saw Romulus and foster home and immediately thought of her. As another commenter suggested (I agree with them) I wonder if this was like a case where he was a living John Doe, who couldn’t communicate his name or didn’t remember who he is because of mental disability or speech impediment or amnesia respectively to each scenario.

I have a TBI (caused by post concussion syndrome due to a car accident) and have trouble speaking sometimes. As well as English not being my first language. I’m fluent in English but when it comes to spoken English my language skills go down. A lot! So that’s why I speculate that. I am also autistic and that can delay speech too, so I am kind of making some educated guesses about this man’s situation.

Adult foster homes and care homes are for adults who can’t take care of themselves, such as the disabled or amnesiacs, elderly, etc.

I am definitely thinking he had a disability. Probably not a physical one since he was at a healthy weight for his height. I’m sure if he was in a wheelchair he would weigh less due to weak muscles in his legs. Probably a mental or intellectual disability.

That part reminds me of Cordarius, the part where you state couldn’t say his name. That’s what I was thinking. It’s been confirmed Cordarius couldn’t say his name due to an intellectual disability. That’s a great possibility here.

Or if he was elderly he could have maybe had dementia or Alzheimer’s and forgotten his name and surroundings to the point he couldn’t communicate whatsoever almost.

I'm physically disabled (I use forearm crutches and a wheelchair) and at a healthy weight for my height. Muscle atrophy can cause some weight loss, but not significant enough to where most physically disabled people are underweight. Plus not all wheelchair users are paralyzed/have significant atrophy in the first place. Weight doesn't really mean anything in regards to disability, I know/have seen plenty of disabled people who are overweight since having a physical disability limits ways you can safely exercise.

But I agree with you that this man was likely unable to care for himself, which is why he was in the foster home. Whether that's because of a physical/mental disability he was born with or acquired later in life, or a TBI or age-related disability like dementia. Sad case all around, and I wish we knew more about him.
