Ron is to be arraigned this morning and then we will find his mugshot. Not sure of the time.

On the first link I supplied above, I am curious who "A" is? Anybody want to guess?
I did find a person with a myspace account who has the same name and lives in Detroit.

I'm still trying to figure out what that case was all about. Sounds like a settlement put in trust for a minor that RJ was put in charge of. Son maybe? But where is mom?

That's my question SuziQ

Thank you! From your link:

Bank statements helped lead a grand jury to bring charges against Ron Jabalee Jr. in the grisly October 2006 death of his parents, Ronald and Christine.

Macomb County Prosecuoor Eric Smith and New Baltimore Police Chief John Bolgar said at a press conference today the murders may have been financially motivated.

Ron Jabalee Jr. was arraigned Saturday and has a court date July 6 in Macomb County Circuit Court.

Found this obituary of Ron Jr.'s father-in-law in the Wayne County, Mich obituary archives:

SZYLLER , RICHARD "Rich" Age 51. December 19, 1998. Dear father of Deborah (Ron) Jabalee and Richard. Loving son of Eva & Zbigniew Starczewski. Brother of George Szyller and Elizabeth (Andrew) Ingrassia. Dearest grandfather of Alex, Erika, and Austin. Uncle of Jody, Donna, and Toby, also Michael, and Eva. Stepbrother of Geraldine, Casey and Alex Starczewski. Funeral Wednesday 11:30 a.m. from The D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile). Mass 12 noon at St. Sylvester Church. Visitation Tuesday 2-9 p.m. Rosary Tuesday 8 p.m.

Looks like Alex is Ron Jr.'s son with wife Deborah. His Facebook profile says he's an '08 grad of Chippewa Valley HS, so must be 19 or 20. Looks like a Hartford Insurance annuity payout or something like that. I don't understand the order to appoint conservator and then order appointing guardian Ad Litem. A Guardian Ad Litem is usually an attorney appointed by the Court to represent the child in a legal dispute concerning their custody or welfare. Interesting.

My kids had a Guardian Ad Litem. The way it was explained to me is this is done to make sure the adult responsible is making the best choices for the kids. What I find weird is that Deborah wasn't listed. In light of the fact that the murders appear to be financially motivated, I hope an accounting is done on A's account.

Can someone else speak to the orders to appoint?

I have followed this case since I first heard about it. I am SO glad someone has been arrested, although I hate to hear who it is. I really hoped all along it was NOT someone in the family. Imagine one of the last faces you see in this world would be a loved one coming down on you in a rage. How horrible.

ETA: I got interested in this case around the same time I did our member Roscoe's dad and step-mom, Terry and Darleen Anderson. Hope justice also comes for her and her family soon.

ETA x 2: How can you be charged with both st and 2nd degree murder?

That is exactly the way a guardian ad litem was explained to hubby and I in our recent battles and troubles with his 15 yr old. Hubby hit the roof at first thinking it was all bad about him, but really they are there for the kids.

I know of one case in Texas where a defendent was tried for Murder 1 and was found not guilty. There was no question the guy did the murder, but there was no proof of premeditation. But the jury didn't have that choice, it was Murder 1 or acquit.

Perhaps that's how they have to file the charges for this case, according to that State. IF the jury can't determine it was premeditated but he's guilty, murder 2 IF they have the choice.

Ron Jr.'s lawyer is going to court today to get a bond set. He was denied bail Saturday. He must be in complete agony. I doubt he gets release.

The judge says if Ron Jr. can post 100,000 dollars for bail and wear a tether he can get out. He took 14 Vicadins on Friday and has threatened his uncle a witness for the grand jury. I don't like this decision.

Whoa. He sounds like a good candidate for no bail to me. I hope the judge knows what they are doing.
