(snips)
Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Richard Caretti this morning reversed an earlier judge’s decision to revoke bond against Ron Jabalee, dismissing claims by prosecutors that he was a threat to the community and witnesses, including family members who testified against him during a grand jury last week.

New Baltimore Police Detective Ken Stevens told the judge that Jabalee, 40, already threatened his uncle for testifying.

Under conditions of release, Jabalee is not to have contact with some family members and must submit to daily drug tests.

Prosecutors said the suspect has a serious painkiller addiction.

I know we must presume innocence until proven guilty, but ... It has been almost three years since the crime was committed. That's a long time for the responsible person to go about his life free of any consequences. He threatened his uncle, which speaks to the need for the GJ proceedings!!!! I am very disapointed in Judge Caretti's decision to let him post bond. Submit to a daily drug test and stay away from those he threatened :waitasec:

Hi, Knox, thanks for alerting me to this thread. I don't know as much as you, though I do remember seeing something on America's Most Wanted. I share your worries about his release. The odd thing is that his addiction to painkillers might make him more passive now; if he's not taking them, he might get more violent. I have an in-law with major psychiatric issues whose had great difficulty managing his withdrawal.

I'm not convinced that the blood message as it exists now reveals anything meaningful.

He is out. The accused murdering son has posted bail. He most "likely posted a 10 percent fee and provided the remaining $900,000 in collateral", as the bail was one million dollars.

Some more about the uncle (Polito) testifying in the grand jury proceedings....

The allegations were repeated Tuesday when New Baltimore police Detective Ken Stevens testified that Jabalee said Polito "would pay" for testifying against him.

"Mr. Jabalee was upset with him personally and that he would pay," Stevens said on the stand. "Mr. Polito indicated to me that he (Jabalee) was a threat to him."

Stevens also testified Jabalee indicated he would fight police if they tried to arrest him.

"He would get 'his pound of flesh; their flesh is the same as mine,'" Stevens quoted Jabalee as told to him by Polito.

Welcome to the thread Chanler, look forward to hearing your thoughts once you get up to speed on the case. The addiction to painkillers is a new revelation. I guess if I were guilty of what he is being accused of doing to my own parents, I would need to take some some massive amounts of drugs to cope too. Those letters on the garage floor; we may never know what they were trying to tell us and to date no one has been able to make sense of it.

Raystar, thanks for keeping us up to speed, are you local to Macomb County?

Thanks for the links Colette ... On the news video the reporter states;

Tensions had been building between Father and Son prior to the murders. I thought of Ron Sr. calling every Friday to see how the close went. Were partner/loan payments not being made/repaid? It has been said he gave Ron Jr. the money to start the business. What about the second store Ron Jr. spoke of opening, was that a source of contention?

Ron Jr. is also supposed to have limited contact with Nicole and Ryan. What do you all make of that? Have the siblings had suspicions all along? I cannot wait to hear what his Uncle's testimony consisted of. Is he Christine's brother?

The addiction to Vicodin. Go back and watch the AMW interview, I felt something was odd about his speech and demeanor. Now it makes sense.

One of the comments got my attention

" Why isn't the Macomb Daily doing any reporting on the details of the following case that was filed in circuit court in January this year:

2009-000265-CZ MONUMENTAL LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY vs. JABALEE, RONALD

Step it up, folks! "

Jabalee is to have limited contact with his family and with his younger brother whom he shares a business with--I thought Ron owned it himself ? I wonder if now he will use the addiction to pain killers as a defense..he couldn't stop himself.

I also though this speech was strange and if you watched his reactions and emotions they were very off...I figured a sedative, he wanted to appear relaxed , so it would appear he had nothing to hide. People who are liars tend to look around, down fidget, etc.

At one point he scratches his neck , he smirks at one point rewatch the tapes and watch his eyebrows, his lips. You would expect someone to have at least one fond memory of their parents..

Knox I live in Wayne County. Macomb county is just north of Wayne county. I have spent many dollars at Ronnie's Meats in Eastern market.
Ron Jr. has a court date on Monday July 6. He should just stay in jail to get accustomed to his surroundings. OK I know he is IUPG. I like GUPI.

Ray --- we to have spent hundreds of dollars there - as recently as a few weekends ago ---- I believe the last time we were there there was still a poster on the front door asking for help finding their killers and the "blood message" meaning............

I'm from northern Michigan, so I haven't been to the Eastern Market, but is Ronnie's Meats different from RJ Meats that the Jabalee's own?

Hi Grace60, I saw the case listed think I remember a few details (website is down right now, cannot access). It was a 50k payout, the insurance company is refusing to pay or did they pay out and are now seeking to recoup the monies? They based their action on the fact that even 2 1/2 years later certain family members cannot be cleared as suspects. Are you saying that LE shared info with a PI for MLIC OR perhaps the PI advised his client of who he suspects may be guilty?

If I recall all three children are parties in the case, but Ron Jr. is executor of the estate.

Hi, I'm new. I really like reading the posts on this forum. About this case, I agree that the emotions shown in the video interview seem odd. I think the bloody message says "SON Jr". The last two letters are slightly above the first three which I think shows that there is supposed to be a space. When the lady was writing this she probably couldn't reach far enough to the right.

Thanks RayStar, great to have a local person's input on this case. I agree with your GUPI, but hope you know it's not a PC viewpoint to have

Correct me if I am wrong, Ronnie's Meats and R.J. Meats are both located in the Eastern Market, but are completely separate businesses. Is Eastern Market similar to the Pike Place Market in Seattle, WA?

Welcome Mutagen!!!:)
Great theory on the writing, after he was arrested I thought looked at it again and thought of that possibility. We'll see what LE's take on it is at trial.

Ya kno, I may be way out in left field, but this is JUST a theory of mind, with so many out there, who knows whats right . . .

I think Mr Jabalee Jr WROTE the message in blood HIMSELF! To throw the heat from the police off of him . . . I mean, they could of fingerprinted the evidence to see exactly what was up, but maybe LE didnt even think of something like OR maybe he is so sick that he used his own dead mother's hand to write it . . . I dont think we'll ever know until ALL the evidence against Jabalee Jr is released to the public, or he is convicted and actually talks about the situation which I dont think will ever happen. . . I think he was having a discussion with Sr, thinks went from talking to arguing to scuffling in no time, his mom came down into the garage to give him a cookie, or she could have been eating it herself, seen he was killing his own father, went to run, Jr went after her while Sr tried to make an attempt to escape, Jr incapacitated the mother and went back to dealing with Sr. Its definitley a long shot, but hey, it is definitely a possible scenario . I just really hope that the trial is on CourtTV since this has been in the National News for almost 3 years. BTW, at the time of the murder, I lived in New Baltimore less than 3 miles away from the crime scene, and let me tell you, those murders definitely rocked our small town. 2 Double Homicides in 8 months would do that to a small community such as New Baltimore. I just really hope they have enough evidence to put this guy away, because if Jr REALLY did commit this crime, and gets off, thats not good. He was way to calm and really, to me, showed no emotion in his interview with TV after the murders. Sure he may have been doped up on Vicodin, but BOTH your parents were just BRUTALLY MURDERED! For what? & WHY? And you have NO EMOTION?? Im sorry, I dont care how calm a person I am, if my parents were slayed the way the Jabalees were, I would breakdown talking about it with reporters.

Gosh, EFizzle85.....that was a great first post! Welcome to WS's!!!! I totally agree with your scenario. I hd posted a similar scenario several post back. I had NOT thought of the possibility that the message was written by the killer! That is really interesting.....off to ponder. :waitasec:
