MI - Samantha Woll, a Detroit synagogue president, fatally stabbed *Arrest*

OK, so we still know nothing other than there was an arrest, and it probably wasn't a 'hate crime.'

We don't even know if it was the same person who was arrested and then released earlier.

Police did not provide the identity of the person of interest. It was unknown if this person of interest was the same person who was taken into custody in November, and then released days later without any charges related to Woll’s murder.

A new suspect

'Detroit — Police have a new suspect in custody Sunday in the killing of local Jewish leader Samantha Woll, two sources familiar with the investigation told The Detroit News.

The man is not an acquaintance of Woll's and appears to be a random stranger, the sources said. The suspect is not the same man who was released exactly one month ago after Detroit police held him for 72 hours as part of the Woll investigation.'

The random stranger thing is interesting...perhaps she NEVER made it indoors that night and was attacked at her doorstep.

I suspect the blood evidence shows she was inside at some point, but I agree she could have been attacked as she was entering the home, perhaps forced inside for the initial attack, broke free and stumbled outside as she was dying.

If it a random stranger I think it's way too soon for the police to declare it isn't a hate crime.

The man arrested is not an acquaintance of Woll and, according to police, seems to be a 'random stranger.'

The suspect arrested Sunday is not the same man who was detained weeks ago.

um, if they think it was random how then are they sure it wasn't a hate crime? Was it a burglary/robbery gone wrong? Random psycho? waiting for more info on this one. Glad an arrest has been made and hoping this time they have the right person.

I hope this doesn't end up as another "catch and release" like we've already seen once in this case, not to mention the murder of Dr. Devon Hoover that has yet to result in an arrest.

Glad there is a "break" in this tragic story. Keeping family and loved ones held up in prayer. Odds are burglar -break in-due to crime in area. Justice needs to prevail.

Maybe whoever they've arrested likes to talk, and has related how he crossed paths with her. Some do, even though it's clearly not in their best interest if they choose later on to plead not guilty.

I'm wondering if DNA results finally came back and they matched someone in a database.

Could be. If he has a recent prior felony, he could be in CODIS.

If it is truly random, a stranger killing, it could be anyone. It could be a tradesperson, a visitor to the neighbourhood, an offender who went to that area purely to find a victim, or someone who stalked her home after seeing her in public. No way of knowing until we find out more.

Her phone and wallet weren't taken according to reports.
Any confirmation she had a door-bell security camera?
Police Chief White said in his last presser that warrants were being issued for neighborhood security footage so maybe something showed up?

Which would explain why this is taking awhile.

No robbery reported by LE and so far no reporting of her being sexually assaulted.

imo: If true her murder appears more personal than random.

Sometimes the killing is the point. As far as we know, Bryan Kohberger didn't steal or sexually assault, either.

Very true, thanks.
Back to square one for me,
