Lansing Police say "initial indication" is body found in Moores River is that of missing woman Shalyn Manson.

UPDATE - MISSING PERSON

Today the Lansing Police Department along with the Michigan State Police continued their search in the Grand River for missing person Shalyn Manson.

This afternoon the Capital Area Dive Team located and recovered a deceased female body in the Grand River near the 800 block of Moores River.

Initial indication is that the body recovered today, is that of Missing person Shalyn Manson. An autopsy will be completed to determine positive identification and cause of death.

Lansing Police investigators do not suspect foul play caused a role in the death. Anyone with information is encouraged to call Lansing Police Detective Matt Salman at 517-483-6855

Parents mourn after body found in river

Her parents told News 10 they've been estranged from her for a while now. However, that didn't make them any less devastated when they got the news Friday.

"I remember the day Shalyn was born and Patty looked at me like she just got the best Christmas present she had," said Jim Maddix, father of Shalyn Manson

Shalyn Manson went missing on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Manson's car was found near the 800 block of Moores River Drive.

"In disbelief that this is even happening, you don't expect to hear about anybody that you love to be missing. but you're hoping or an outcome to be that they find them alive," said Patricia Maddix, mother of Shalyn Manson.
