Quote from the children underground article.. the parents DON'T always go with

"I got a woman comin' in from Indiana, and I got another comin' in tomorrow night," she says. "And then, there's Tessy Kittle, who couldn't go underground with her little girl because of her diabetes. They're gonna arrest her for not tellin' where the child is! She doesn't know where she is, and they're gonna throw her in jail anyway."

I don't buy the underground thing. You have to have court records, documentation, medical records, etc. that helps give credence to any abuse claims of the child, before any underground group will help you go underground and it's extremely rare they put children underground without a parent. There was never any allegations of abuse of the children.

The police have said from all that dad has said they don't expect a positive outcome for the boys. I tend to agree with them.

As much as I hope and wish they were being hid somewhere, I just don't buy it. IMO

I didnt see the part re the small nooses ........how awful.....

once again I am hoping he has set this all up to look like he killed them and has in fact hidden them.......but its a sick sad world out there.

It is cases like this where I believe any measure necessary should be used to make the person talk. May be cruel, but they have to be made to tell where the kids are. This is just wrong. If I were the wife I would tell him anything he wanted to hear to get my babies back, even if it meant telling him we would get back together. My first husband would have been capable of doing something like this with the kids (we have 2) and he always threatened to "take" them from me. After years of living in fear I finally called his bluff and told him he could have custody of them. After he realized he could not hurt me with that threat anymore he stopped saying it. He never would have gotten custody of them, but I finally learned how to call his bluff. He was the kind to do the opposit of what he thought I wanted and I learned to use that against him and to our benefit.

I feel for this mother and I hope the boys are safe and are returned to her, but I think he has done something to them otherwise he would not have pretended the suicide. I think that was gonna be his way out, mentally unstable.

Pollywog, trying to catch up here, but your post really hit home with me. I'm surprised that they're aren't more cops who beat the carp out of perps, then just say, "Okay, go ahead and fire me", or just walk off the job. I know, that's not the way to solve things, but sometimes I wonder why cops don't just go off on these kinds of creeps.

I agree....and with Kittle, she stated from the beginning that she had taken the daughter and why. She would not disclose her where abouts but did let the authorities/judge anyone involved that she was safe and hidden. The article also discusses what happened in this case and she didn't sit long in jail before she turned on Yager and requested the girl be produced to get out of jail.

I totally agree with the above post...yes, we know now that the dad is more than likely guilty of God knows what, but when they first went missing..nobody even then had come forward. I find this very odd and it's like everyone is on lockdown concerning the facts. This leads me to believe that there is WAY more to this story than has been given to us so far. Hell, the person that took him to the hospital could have earned some money telling his story to the National Enquirer! But nothing. At this point in a case, all family members have talked, past and present employers, etc...

Also, I'm probably not going to be very popular BUT, I still insist her past should not be "in the past". If the situations were reversed, we..along with everyone else would be shouting from the rooftops that the mom had reason to take the kids away cuz dad was a SO...the double standard is in full swing in this case and I do not agree with it at all. People can pretty it up all they want, but at the end of the day she raped a 14 year old boy. She manipulated him (like all pedophiles do!) into having sex, and she was 33! She didn't "make a mistake", she wasn't "confused", she didn't "accidently fall on top of him"...she set out to manipulate thru CONTROL to have sex with him. It kind of makes me a little sick when people say what a "loving" mom she is cuz unless some new study came out that I'm not aware of, pedophiles don't know what real love is, particularly towards children. Then, JS marries a RSO,has 3 children by her.. so right there shows you that he's not exactly stable either. Ugh. Yes, her RSO status may have absolutely nothing to do with this case, but we don't KNOW that for sure, and this is a forum to discuss ALL aspects of the case. I am a Nurse, I have a Masters Degree, I have spoken extensively in schools and parents groups about child sexual abuse, and I am also the mother of a sexually assaulted child...somewhere, somehow, her past MAY be very relevant to this case
I know their is a fund set up to "help the family" and I would gladly donate if it was directly for the boys psychological help when found or God forbid, their funerals...but I will not give a DIME if it goes to mom. Can't do it. Nope.

Plus, it still gives me hope that the SO thing is the reason why he may have taken and hid them and that they are alive and well somewhere. I know it's probably not, and I'm probably incredibly stupid to still cling to this hope, but I still do cuz I would gladly sit in jail the rest of my life to protect my kid.

I in NO WAY condone JS if in fact, he did harm the boys nor do I condone the numerous laws broken if he is hiding them somewhere.. He would deserve to live in a cage the rest of his life if so.

I 100 percent agree with your post. Every word, thanks for posting that!

Why would he say "Help find my kids" - he freaking knows where his kids are and he needs to tell somebody so they can go and get them. Poor babies.

However, before he lawyered up, the father of three missing boys was talking. According to a source, Skelton told investigators he is responsible for the death of his three sons. The Morenci police chief alluded to that during a press conference.
"Statements that he's made to investigators would indicate that it's not going to be a positive outcome," said Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks.
Sources told FOX 2's Taryn Asher when police first searched Skelton's Morenci home they found what could be small nooses and cut cargo straps. They also found the three boys' winter coats.
Skelton allegedly admitted to police he killed his three boys, but what he did with his kids is where the story keeps changing. At one point, he susposedly told investigators he wrapped his sons' bodies in sheets, gave them each a teddy bear and hid their bodies in an old schoolhouse in Kunkle, Ohio.

I know there used to be an old wooden school house about 20 miles straight north of Kunkle in OH just south of Pittsford MI. It was really creepy to look inside. It looked like all the old desks were sitting there and the floor fell in.

Are any of these reports about this teddy bear confession validated or is it still "supposedly"?

Wondering if this is merely gossip around town or something he actually said, and LE hasn't confirmed anything because he's a known liar and/or they're waiting until they recover them.

I think if him shouting to a relative to "help find my kids" was true,JS' lawyer would be publicly speaking out about his client maintaining innocence to try and bolster public support for him.

Interesting info from the underground railroad article

"That's because in Ohio, violating a custody order is not automatically a felony.

Law enforcement officials in Ohio can go to a grand jury to seek indictments on "child stealing" charges, which would clear the way for a federal arrest warrant, but they declined to do so in Carol Sawyer's case. Evidence was sketchy, and "if we did it for her, it would open the floodgates for everyone who comes to us," Bates said."

Not sure if this has been posted, but is very interesting....

The day Tanya Skelton filed for divorce her husband picked up their two oldest sons from school and texted her from Ohio that he was taking them to Florida, according to her motion for custody. Tanya Skelton called Weeks, who contacted John Skelton and convinced him to return the boys. But later that day, John Skelton picked them up at home and drove to Florida with them, the motion said.

John Skelton later returned the boys and had been seeing them "with no issues," said Kathye Herrera, who identified herself as a spokeswoman for Tanya Skelton.

But court records show the custody fight continued to be nasty. John Skelton filed a motion for custody on Sept. 27, saying his wife was a registered sex offender.

Just took a google drive from Kunkle to Pittsford and this is one of the ones noted. Google gives a fairly decent picture - wondering if this old wooden school house would be still standing - how long ago since you saw it? This gave me the creeps just looking at it on google.

That night, about 200 people gathered for a prayer vigil at a church in Morenci, a small, mostly blue-collar and farming community just north of the Ohio state line. Lights were strung on poles along the town's main street, and festive decorations adorned windows in some of the shops and eateries in town.
Friends said the Skelton boys also started celebrating the holidays early by making greeting cards. One of the older brothers wrote "Jesus is awesome" on his and drew a Nativity scene, said Kathye Herrera, a friend of Tanya Skelton who is serving as the family's spokeswoman.
"They love church. They love the interaction, and they know all about Jesus," Herrera said.
Herrera said the boys' parents have been married for 10 years but are in the process of getting a divorce. She said that earlier this year, John Skelton picked his two older sons up from school and took them to Florida, but later returned to Michigan. Custody was awarded to Tanya Skelton, though John Skelton "had been seeing the boys with no issues," Herrera said.
Herrera said Tanya Skelton attends a local college or community college and John Skelton was a long-haul truck driver who hasn't been working in while.
John Skelton's mother, Roxann Skelton of Jacksonville, Fla., told the Detroit Free Press that her son wouldn't hurt his children. She didn't return a phone message from The Associated Press.
"I know my son, he's not a monster," she told the newspaper. "He's a good son and he would not harm his boys. I know those children are, you know, still with us."

John Skelton's sister, Lucinda Ford, said Tuesday that her brother became depressed following divorce proceedings. She claimed Tanya Skelton threatened to prevent him from seeing the children. Neither Tanya Skelton nor other family members could be reached for comment.

Ford spoke from her home in Jacksonville, Fla. She said her brother's desperation peaked the day before Thanksgiving after an alleged confrontation with Tanya Skelton, in which she allegedly told him he could no longer see his children.

Despite her brother's arrest Tuesday afternoon and statements by law enforcement that the boys likely were dead, Ford said she still believed they are alive. She said her brother had told her the children were in a safe place he wouldn't disclose.

"He is not a monster. He is a good father," Ford said. "The children are his life; he loves those boys."

Ford said the couple's relationship troubles began two years ago, after John Skelton lost his job as a long-haul truck driver. She said that the couple had planned to move to Florida so he could look for work, but that Tanya Skelton changed her mind at the last minute. She said Tanya Skelton had difficulty finding work herself because she had been convicted of a sex offense committed years ago with a 14-year-old boy.

Among the postings on John Skelton's Facebook page Tuesday was a commentary dated Nov. 21, in which the father described how his kids had called 9-1-1 the previous night while they were in the house with him. Mr. Skelton said the children called 9-1-1 because he was upstairs on the phone and the boys mistakenly believed they were home alone. Official police records concerning the call could not be accessed Tuesday.

Seems like the whole family is sort of scripted..."He's not a monster..." "The boys are his life." The same statements over and over from different family members.

Sorry but I think when it comes to finding children the law has got to have the ability to press these guys a little harder. Enhanced interrogation methods may lead to false information, but you would certainly know whether it was false or not when you either found those children or didn't. So the fact that it was false would not hurt anyone because it's not a national security issue. I have NO sympathy for this guy.

That's not it. I think the road was Reading road for the one I knew of. It was old brown wood and fairly close to the road but had a lot of brush grown up. I can't remember if I went by it 7 years ago when I was up that way. If it's there it is very well known by the locals so I imagine it was looked at. It's near a place called Lost Nations. A 2500 acre state game area. They looked for Jimmy Hoffa there when he went missing.

Called 911 because he was on the phone.. must have been a very lengthy quiet conversation with his door shut maybe.. I have kids that exact same age. They are usually like me like white on rice when i'm on the phone.. but the rare occasions i do get to have a phone conversation alone I just cannot see my kids thinking i left them alone. even when I run to the basement for privacy. They've called 9191 before while messing with my phone and such.. but I dunno.. just doesn't make sense to me. Why they would do it without thoroughly tearing the house apart looking for their dad first.. I do know all kids are different though....

oh, wth, on NG they said that little nooses were found around the house.

  • #240
So if they had a custody agreement, then why all of a sudden would the mom tell her before thanksgiving that he could not longer see the kids, but yet he had them on thanksgiving? Maybe he just otld his sister that and it was a lie? I can't see her saying that to him and then letting him still take them that day. Makes no sense and I jsut want the to find the boys.
